I wouldn't say Eovia had "poor" marketing. Their marketing was effective enough to convince me to buy Carrara5, and I see several other new users in this forum. But marketing is something that DAZ excels at and I believe the merging of the talents and strengths of DAZ and Eovia U.S. will result in many new users for Carrara and Hexagon. The more "seats" an app has, the more money for R&D, and the more profit for the company. DAZ has apps that make it easy for potential CG enthusiasts to get their feet wet. If only a fraction of these folks decide they want to progress beyond pushing the "make-art" button stage and really learn some CG skills, it will mean a lot more "butts" in Carrara and Hexagon seats.
