Your effect looks more like a 'post event smear' - like a psycho went and splashed patterns or a body was wiped across the wall. I need gunshot effects on a back wall (splatter), and pooling around a lying body as well as beneath a hung figure... I'll need to do it texture map wise due to complexity of the scene and lighting effects I intend to add. I -think- you technique might work in part for the figure against the column, who would have slumped into position after the injury. That means it will need both 'smear' and 'splatter'. This is an 'early WIP' - and as I noted, one figure did not even import successfully. What I am thinking is I will make some 'blood effect shapes' in photoshop or illustrator, and use them to make terrain maps that I will place at the proper locations in the scene. This is one of the only violent images I've done, and it's intended as a statement on racial conflict normally 'concealed' in fantasy.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.
