Yeah, studying the "elements of design" is important. First, there is no real meaning in the octopus tentacles next to the shrimp...you are not really saying anything. Now if the tentacles were coming out of hiding in a cave etc... then you could say oh...that's why I don't see the octopus. Heck maybe if the shrimp are looking the other way. Basically there needs to be a whole concept. Now, in terms of angle...etc you can play with that.Think about what you want to emphasis and say with your image.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.
