Yes, you can reinstall P5 and share the same runtime(s). I have P4(PP), P5, and P6 installed. You can "link" P5 to your P6 runtime, and P6 to your P5 runtime. Just make sure that when you reinstall P5 that it is installed in a folder with a unique name (i.e. poser5 rather than just poser) so it doesn't overwrite your P6 install. The default install folder for P6 may be poser6, but I don't remember for sure. I do remember some chatter about some issues with V3 and P5 that you might want to look in to. I think you need to make sure that the delta (injection) !DAZ folders for the DAZ generation 3 figures (V3, M3, etc.) need to be copied to your P5 runtime for things to work properly with characters using injection poses (see link).
