I don't get vertex that well either. I actually prefer the old Ray Dream modeler, it was easier to use and visually less cluttered and confused. If Im in drawing plane I only want to see one section at a time. In C4 you get a cunfused jumble you have to constantly play with the viewing angle to make sure you arent on the wrong spline.
