Hi folks,

We'd like to announce the immediate availability of our plug-ins for
Carrara 4. Your existing DCG or eovia Power Pack serial numbers will
continue to work where appropriate, there is no cost to upgrade. You can
download the updates from our website or the links at the end of this
message.

The user license has been updated to reflect the abilities of Carrara 4.
Each license may now also be installed on up to 5 Carrara 4 Pro or eovia Chain render nodes for use only with the Carrara 4 render node. A render node site license for use with eovia's Grid plug-in is also available at the DCG store.

Installing the Mac side has become a little more complicated for Carrara

4. Follow the steps below to install the plug-ins on Mac OSX.

Mac OSX install instructions

1. Open the Carrara 4 folder.
2. Ctrl-click on the Carrara application and select Show Package Contents.
3. In the newly opened Finder window, navigate to ContentsMacOSExtensions.
4. Extract the contents of the SIT and copy them there.

Ground Control users, there are a couple of new treats for you. First,
Ground Control now integrates itself directly into the Terrain editor.
Add a new filter and change its type to Ground Control|GC Importer to
access the terrain filter version of Ground Control. It retains all the
precision of the Ground Control primitive and gains the speed and memory
advantages of importing as Terrain. The second new tool is the the
Ground Control Shader Filter. It lets you use master shaders to perform
operations in the Terrain editor (think an Anything Grooves primitive
set on plane, boosted with steroids). Both new tools are detailed on the
Ground Control product page and in the product download.
