A friend of mine tried that with an actual movie (non-CG / 3D) which we are still working on. We had about 10 volunteers from as far as England. They were all going to shoot short segments (2-5 mins). But as time went on, we didn't get any segments and they all bailed on us. Hopefully your experiences will be more successful.
