When I asked our judges to make their decisions, I asked them to send me their top three choices and list them in order. I did the same thing myself. This is the first time that the overlap in the choices was so exceptionally lean (only two of the nine choices overlapped). The way I judge a contest is as follows. 1.) Select images I think follow the theme. While I only approve images that follow the theme, I do believe some images capture my personal idea of the spirit of the theme better than others. 2.) Select images that excericise the software. This doesn't mean that it has to be "photo realistic" but it does mean that it probably needs to have burned a few CPU cycles. 3.) Plain and simple, the coolness factor. Unfortunately, this is strictly a personality thing. Images 20 and 21 were my other two picks but there were many others that were very close. Just an FYI, I entered several of these contests and never won them and I always wondered why myself. I know how much work can be put into them and I want everybody to know that it's worth it! You learn about your art, you learn about Carrara and hopefully you have some fun. -Kix
