Contest Rules - General Guidelines

Dear Renderosity Artists, We try our best to provide exciting annual contests for the community. Each time we are constantly faced with entries that do not comply with the posted contest rules. Most of what we see are images or thumbnails that are the wrong size, missing thumbnails, or nudity when it is not permitted. To help you understand the Renderosity "no nudity" contest clause, and what exactly is permitted, we have created a Contest Figure Coverage page. If an entry doesn't meet the requirements, the member will get an IM similar to this: [Hi XXXXX, This message is to inform you that your entry in the XXXX Contest has been disapproved as it does not comply with the rules as stated on the Contest page. Specifically this rule: "XXXXXXXX" Please be aware of the posted rules and try again.] If there is ever any question about rules or requirements for a particular Contest, please post them in the Contest announcement thread, or contact any of the Contest Managers BEFORE submitting your entry. In addition, each entry must be manually reviewed prior to being approved. This process can take up to 24 hours before an entry appears on the contest page. If you don't see your entry within that time frame, please contact the Contest Manager to confirm it uploaded properly. Please do not wait until the very last minute to upload your entry. This causes unnecessary stress and creates a bottleneck of entries, some of which don't make it, because they don't comply with the rules and then it is too late to upload another entry. We hope this reminder will help everyone to have a more enjoyable contest experience here at Renderosity. Best regards, Lillian Hawkins Renderosity Marketing Manager (with credit to Nick Sorbin [vclaszlo] for originally posting this idea in the Fractal forum)

Yep, thanks for this info. All the time I was under the mistaken illusion that art and rules don't mix very well but now Renderosity lays down the law with those little artsy rascals.

I think the contest rules are very fair and make total sense. It's great to have the clarification. :) Thanks for posting this!
