Larry Weinberg, the original creator of Poser, has been active in Computer Animation production since 1983. He spent ten years with Rhythm and Hues Studios as one of their top technical directors, animation directors and software developers. His contributions to animation and software have helped win several Clio awards, a special effects Emmy (for Star Trek - Deep Space Nine), and an Academy Award for Best Special Effects (for Babe). He was an Effects Supervisor and Lead Character Animator on the multi-award winning motion-base ride film "Seafari" produced for Universal Studios. He has animated or directed on numerous TV commercials including two of the Coca-Cola Polar Bear spots, a series of Mr. Peanut ads, and many others. Other credits include developing the game engine for the Sony Playstation game "Eggs of Steel", animation supervising for the Spiderman ride at the Islands of Adventure theme park at Universal Studios in Orlando, and supervising the animation for more than 100 shots on Scooby Doo 2 and Garfield the Movie. The first version of Poser was originally created as an evening hobby while working at Rhythm and Hues Studios. Larry then spent more than four years with Fractal Design, and MetaCreations, to continue to develop, grow and publish Poser as a tool to empower other artists.
