Powerage

is our Vendor of the Month for September 2019. This talented artist joined Renderosity in 2003 and has over 1,000 followers. Powerage is consistently a top seller. There are over 500 items for sale in this artist's shop. One of the things that make Powerage unique as a vendor is that there are as many 3D assets like props, architecture and landscapes as there are clothing and 3D figure assets. And all of Powerage's work is top-notch!

We have a brief interview with Powerage (see below) and a video gallery which features 10 works from their Renderosity store. Our thanks to Powerage for taking the time to talk with us and for providing the music, composed by Powerage, that goes with the video.

Interview with Powerage

Renderosity: One thing I noticed in your store is that you have more 3D models/architecture than many other vendors. How did you learn to become such a good modeler?

Powerage Oh, I never paid attention to that, but now that you say it, it's true that I have a lot of architectural products. I do not know if I am a good modeler, but what I do know is that architecture has always interested me. When I was a child I drew castles, castles and even castles lol. I like modeling architecture because I feel really free and following my desire of the moment I choose sci fi, fantasy or contemporary themes.

I love the wide variety of subjects and themes in your store. Where and how do you get your ideas for new products?

Powerage I admire specialists, those who make hair or clothes. Unfortunately, I can not stay in a specific area because it bores me quickly, so I alternate. I think it's funny to model feminine underwear, then a hideous monster or buildings :) alternating themes, trying to learn new skills, that's what makes me progress. This way of proceeding allows me to have new ideas to realize. I have to want it, I could not force myself to do something, it must be fun first.

The “Back Alley Core Package” is one of your bestsellers. How did you come to create this work? What was your workflow?

Powerage I'm glad you mentioned this product, because it's one that is really important to me. The idea being to make a variety of extensions for this product. Ok, it's a deadend street, contemporary buildings ... in short, can be seen already. But, my idea is that from this base have a variety of possibilities, I have plenty of ideas for this product, but ... to follow ;) I can still say that there is already two extensions of ready to be released this month, I hope that customers will take as much pleasure to use this series in their works as me to conceive them.

I really like your clothing/glamour products. Do you have some favorites?

Powerage I love my last ones who use dForce: Horizon, Tshirt Collection, Nuisette and Summer Dress, I had fun with that.

Do you have any advice for vendors at Renderosity who are just starting out?

Powerage I do not like giving advice, we are in a very particular business sector. Art in general does not come in the same way (and thankfully) for each person. Our temperaments, our interests are all different and that's what creates this incredible diversity. For me there are no competitors or anything, everyone does according to who he is. In my opinion the only two advice is to have fun with what you are doing and you will have a good chance of succeeding and assuming your interests.

What is your advice for artists just setting out to be a vendort at Renderosity?

Powerage See what is in demand. Think about what you would be interested in creating. Work should be fun. Make quality products. If the products are quality buyers are sure to notice them.

Any last thoughts you’d like to share before we close?

Powerage Thank you very much to my clients and especially to those who have been following me for many years. Sorry for my terrible English, i think i would never get there argh !! And thanks to the staff of Renderosity, especially Jenn, who supports me (and it's not always easy)

Christophe
