October, 2016, Vendor of the Month:
Fabiana
Our Vendor of the Month (VOM) for October, 2016, is incredibly talented Fabiana. Hailing from Argentina, Fabiana creates and sells clothing, hair, props, accessories and figures created primarily in Poser. Her real forte, however, is her remarkable skills in creating jewelry. A Renderosity member since 2001, Fabiana has nearly 100 jewelry designs in her store; each one a little masterpiece of imagination and style.
We spoke with Fabiana recently about her work and her ideas on creating jewelry and other digital art works. .
Interview with Fabiana
Renderosity: You have a special gift for creating original and stylish jewelry, fabiana. Is this also something you enjoy in real life? Where do you find the designs for the jewelry you create?
Fabiana: I find my designs in between the real life and my crazy imagination. I am always "seeing" patterns and lines in everything so sometimes it comes to me like a flash and I "see" the model... Other times I make drawings and sketch. Is a venture, every time, and that is what I love most of it. I do things I could perfectly wear in real life, now or when I was younger.
Can you give us an idea of what a typical workday is like for you?
Fabiana: A typical day is a quiet day... I hate to wake up early, I am a night bird... so probably I would be still sleeping when the sun is already high. I have a clear love for the night and the quiet hours, I do almost all the difficult things when all are asleep and I can just sit and think and hear music. That is the best part, when I finally come to the art part, the promos, and I most likely will stay all night long awake in an art marathon that lets me tired but so so so plenty of joy... I live with my husband, daughters and granddaughter, so the quiet time is a very rare good... lol... when I can get some, I won´t let it pass...
Your skills with Poser and Daz are awesome; when did you start using these applications and what do you like about them?
Fabiana: Poser has been my "other" husband for so long time... I love it with passion, since the 2000 when I discovered it. I think I have spent more time inside Poser than any other software or thing, in my whole life, with the exception of the motherhood and the painting.
I came to Daz Studio past year, so I just have a few months with it and I can say that I am loving it too. Very much. I adore some functions and the smoothness in the workflow, from the very start to the end. I must say that Genesis 3 has me enchanted. I truly enjoy working in DS now. I love the Material Room of Poser and also love the Iray Engine of DS so... at this point, is very hard to decide which one to use every day...
At the same time I started to learn ZBrush and now I am in love with it, modelling and morphing all the time with this software.
Unfortunately the age of Victoria 4 has made that many of us, Poser designers, had to let our imagination grow onto the Genesis 3 new ambient, but I am always hoping...
How has Renderosity made a difference in your life as an artist?
Fabiana: Renderosity changed my life and I have said it many times. I came from 3dcommune.com, not available anymore, and found a home here. I love this place and the people here. Many friends and customers from long date are around and I love to meet them around. Helpful people, caring, warm... I know some of them from the very back in time and we have a story that we share...
Do you have any advice for someone who is just starting out as a vendor at Renderosity?
Fabiana: My advice is... work hard and don´t give up. Never. Keep on trying. Ask for help. Ask for oppinions to the vendors you already like and are around. All of us have been new and young and all of us had someone helping and giving hints, tutorials, advices... so don´t be scared and get close to the stablished vendors. They know what to say :D
Be original, be creative, push yourself outside the limits, throw the box to the gardens and think out of it LOL... There is nothing bad on to be niche, on to be unique, on to make what no one does... maybe there is your place waiting for you. Your promos are the face of yours that people behind the screen will get from you. Do them with love. Not rush... give them time to grow.
And if you don´t feel the muse coming... everybody has friends, so ask for help. As my granny said more eyes catch more sun...
