Welcome to The 'Rosity Comic Strip!
Congratulations! The Renderosity Cartoon Team is one year old!

This week's Cartoon Highlight: Spastic Plastic - by Glasko [Daniel Porter]
What is your inspiration for your comic strip?
I first created these characters Apr 2, 2003, shortly after the United States entered into Operation Iraqi Freedom. A Junior in high school, I became consumed by the news and media, everything surrounding the conflict. My eyes were glued to the 24 hour news-- and there it happened, I needed a break. From all the drama of the year there spawned in my polygonal modeler the most lighthearted and nonsensical creation my hands could mold, Spaztic Plastic and the Plastic of Justice. The Renderosity community was the first to see these characters, and I was inspired. It's hard to say where I found inspiration, because the world of Spaztic Plastic flowed out of me-- experiences and pop culture references and, most importantly, my love for the super hero of credulous simplicity and slapstick. There are also several more esoteric references to classic video games and mythology, but mostly, the comic is a conglomeration of everything that isn't Political Science (International Relations), my major at Kent State University. I love my area of study very much, but Spaztic Plastic is a creative outlet set apart from the study I do day and night.I also pride myself in being the first comic strip here at Renderosity, as we used to run articles with the comic strip in monthly sequence on the front page. If you appreciate the comic, it's primarily storyline based and I hope that the passing reader becomes interested enough to enter the world that I created for everybody here. -- Daniel
