Renderosity's 2014 Annual Awards

Another year has come and gone and what a great year it was! As we move forward into 2015, we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge those vendors who rose to the top by continuing to offer outstanding digital content. As we do each year around this time, Renderosity's Annual Awards pays tribute to some of the top performing vendors and products that can be found in the MarketPlace.

Each award and its respective winner or winners are showcased below. We asked each of these award winning vendors a few questions and you can view their responses below.

Every MarketPlace vendor is eligible to win but can only win in a single category in any given year.

Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing more great 3D models and resources in 2015!

..........

Vendor of The Year: ironman13

This award goes to the vendor with the highest sales in 2014

Visit ironman13's Store

(Rendo) How do you feel about winning this award?

(ironman13) Winning this award is the most notice for my efforts I can receive and so it means more than any other compliment about my work. It says to me "You did something well" and who does not like to hear that? It simply feels amazing. You just wonder how much everyone enjoys all the effort you put into your creations and it lets you know how much. It makes you even more motivated to make them something even more wonderful.

(Rendo) How was your winning year at Renderosity better, different or improved from previous years?

(ironman13) I have to say it was very different. This is because I had lots going on in my personal life. I just did not think that I would win but I did and I was surprised but realized it was because there were many things in my store that people just had not yet discovered. Although I did not upload as much it seems like it gave artists a chance to purchase things that that had been on their wishlist.

(Rendo) What are your plans and hopes for 2015?

(ironman13) I plan to continue to experiment with new methods of creation to make things that are not easy to duplicate and that are unique through innovative methods of lighting, texturing and scripting. I'm hoping that the community responds well to the changes and notice the effort going into the creating of those items.

(Rendo) What trends in the community/3D market do you see that affect how you create products or the types of products you create and what software those support?

(ironman13) Trends? Hmmm...I think that I try and notice what there is a lot of and try to not make that. So I wont really look at what's hot or what's selling the most and make anything like it. Because I know that others are going to do that and its not fresh as I want it to be, so I will do my best to think about what might compliment what and make that or something that I see might be of use. So If i see a lot of poses I might focus more on scenes or lighting or If I see a lot of scenes I might focus more on poses and so on. However I do always make things that are just what I enjoy making. Sometimes those are hits and sometimes not but its something I must do because its so enjoyable.

All-Star Vendor of The Year: outoftouch

This award goes to the vendor with the highest number of units sold for 2014.

(Rendo) How do you feel about winning this award?

(outoftouch) I feel very honored to win this award, even if it isn't the first time I'm getting it. I feel very happy to see that customers and artists continue enjoying my products and like what I do, thank you very much!

(Rendo) How was your winning year at Renderosity better, different or improved from previous years?

(outoftouch) 2014 was a very special year because in March it was my 10 year anniversary and I was very happy to celebrate it with all of you. I began to fully concentrate on Genesis 2 Female content and am happy to use the benefits of the modern technique and figures that DAZ Studio offers.

(Rendo) What are your plans and hopes for 2015?

(outoftouch) Well the most important thing is to stay healthy and continue to be creative. I do not plan too far, so I can not actually speak of a plan for 2015. I do plan to continue creating high quality 3D content that is versatile and customizable.

(Rendo) What trends in the community/3D market do you see that affect how you create products or the types of products you create and what software those support?

(outoftouch) I could say that Genesis 2 is a trend I have noticed lately - I love to see the growing group of artists trying it out. However I would not say that this actually is a trend, nor would I have any idea of a special trend going on. I really enjoy to see that the fact "realism" gets more important, which surely is a benefit of modern technique and programs. It is great to see that even if we feel we have reached somewhat of the top of modern techniques, there is always something new around. We all develop and that is what does affect my creation process. It has always been the case for me to ask myself if a product is good enough, I still do it with every single one I do. This gives me to possibility to develop and create the best quality. I love to try out new things, try different programs or ways to create content.

The Renderosity MarketPlace's MVP: Hameleon

This award goes to the individual item with the highest revenue for 2014.

Hameleon's product responsible for winning this award is Sex Appeal - Blouse and Skirt for V4

Visit Hameleon's Store

(Rendo) How do you feel about winning this award?

(hameleon) I have no words to express my feelings. It's just amazing!

(Rendo) How was your winning year at Renderosity better, different or improved from previous years?

(hameleon) Of course, 2014 was better than the previous years. It's about everything - the quality of my products, and accumulated experience. As a vendor, I feel more confident than ever before.

(Rendo) What are your plans and hopes for 2015?

(hameleon) This year I hope to speed up the work - to optimize performance without loosing a quality. Thinking about new ideas. More good furniture and interiors. It will be great to continue production of new terrains. And of course a lot of new Poses, and high-quality clothes that we will do together with santuziy78. I hope that the 3D market will raise as rapidly as it rapid before. And i will contribute to this, as I can.

(Rendo) What trends in the community/3D market do you see that affect how you create products or the types of products you create and what software those support?

(hameleon) The answer is simple. I watch as Poser Software is developing all the time. New tools and improvements in every new version of Poser allows you to create something new or to create old things but using new technologies.

Rookie of The Year Award: dexsoft-games

This award goes to the vendor who began selling in 2014 and achieved the highest revenue.

Visit dexsoft-games' Store

(Rendo) What is your response to winning this award?

(ironman13) This award makes me feel that all that hard work making new products was worth it and I hope that I will continue to supply more new products in the future. Currently I am extremely busy with some other projects but as soon as I can I will be creating some new products. I would like to see a little better Poser with faster rendering speed because it takes so much time now to produce great renders especially if you use transparencies a lot. Also placing props around is very difficult compared to other 3d apps. But I like poser :) So thats affect a lot of my pipeline of making new products. I could do much much better scenes with lots of foliage like trees and flowers but that takes ages to render.

Dream Team Award: Danie & marforno

Renderosity's NEWEST Annual Award category consists of two or more vendors who collaborated on at least 75% of their MarketPlace products while earning the highest total revenue for 2013.

(Rendo) How do you feel about winning this award?

(DM Productions) We think that it is always good to get an award. It denotes movement and reaffirms that you have done something well and it tells you that your audience is still responding and backing you up. It's fantastic.

(Rendo) How was your winning year at Renderosity better, different or improved from previous years?

(DM Productions) It was a very good year (as Frankie says), definitely different, with a lot of new challenges and changes, upgrading, study and time invested.

(Rendo) What are your plans and hopes for 2015?

(DM Productions) Well plans are always subject to change but we hope that we will keep on producing what our customers expect us to deliver to them...Multi platform easy and ready-to-use products.

(Rendo) What trends in the community/3D market do you see that affect how you create products or the types of products you create and what software those support?

(DM Productions) As content creators we think that we have to be conscious of what is going on globally in the 3D market and move accordingly if we want to stay afloat and upgraded. We have to embrace new trends as opportunities to grow and learn, and to provide our customers with what they want and need. The only constant in the world, is change after all.
