I love this time of year and I love the way you conduct your contests...they're fair and done in the right way compared to a few others I've entered on another site, namely DeviantArt. They do not have fair contests and that's why I no longer go there. I have found a new community home and it's right here at Renderosity!
There are only 2 animations right now... On the first one, I get recorded music and a noise monitor screen - no animation... on the second image, I get a blank screen - no animation. I love animation and love viewing it in the contests, but I've seen this problem in just about every contest, are these artist told that we're not seeing it and to fix it? I think the animation link should be tested before uploaded into the contest. I believe if you go back to the halloween contest there is an animation or two there that don't work too.
just an idea, but seeing as how you can post an animation on youtube and it can only be seen by people that have the link, maybe rendo could consider that as an option for animation hosting, it wouldnt take much to set up a competition page and then upload all the entries there and post the url's here along with the thumbs, larger pics and descriptions.
i've done that jumpstartme2, on a more worrying note, the previous posters comments about people not being able to see the animations do concern me, as there is never any feedback from the voting thread, maybe rendo could consider a thread within the contest section that would allow people to comment on either the problems they encounter viewing entries or allow them to critique the entry. I know in the past I have had problems with gallery images appearing too dark because of my monitor settings. I think it would be useful for entrants to know, otherwise how can they strive to improve if there is no feedback at all. Just an idea..............
