when I have a 2-d or 3-d art question, this is where I come to. When i'm in need of a 3-d prop, scene or other object, this is where I come to. And when I want to browse throough an enormous gallery of talented artists' works this is also where I come to. Seems that me and 99,999 other folks feel the same way. Congratulations renderosity and many thanks.
It feels like such a long time ago that we were voting on the name for this place. Back then I was going by a different username, getting use to playing with the new Poser 4 and wondering what would happen to Poser in the fallout from MetaCreations.
Entropic has a point: this figure is not an accurate representation of actual individual users. It does not take into account that many ppl at 'rosity have multiple user names; it does not take into account those who joined but have never since visited the site, nor those who were once active participants who have moved on. The figure is an accurate account of registered user names, nothing more, nothing less.
we try to make the numbers as accurate as possible. inactive members are indeed deleted. if you don't come back for a year, your membership is purged from the system. also, we really would prefer folks not use clone accounts... as it does make keeping stats pretty tricky. thanks!
Woa! This is a real milestone! This is the biggest online community on the web and still growing strong! Who knows where whe will be 10 years from now! Thanks to the renderosity team for coming up with this idea and making it happen. Thanks a lot for that folks.
Don't wish to sound negative as Renderosity is the best 3D site in the universe and given my work a much greater audience than before. I just wonder if all of the 100,000 members are real. Supposedly I have reffered 5 new members from my web site. However those 5 members all have empty Artist & Gallery pages. Surely most members have at least set up their Artist page and posted 1 image? Just my 2 cents worth. 3DKiwi
Well, it certainly is spreading. I sat down at a computer in the labs on campus one day, logged onto renderosity...doobeedoobeedooo...computer being sloooww...and being a bit nosey, I glanced at the screen next to me. Bloke next to me was logged in to Renderosity. How cool is that?
I would be lost without Renderosity, it has become a home from home and I'm very comfortble here. There are no faults to be seen in the web site and the other 99,999 members are a valuable inspiration for life and work. Keep up the good work. Catlin
