Of course this is a very good topic for a contest that is during the Halloween season! I got a look at some of the entries so far (wow people really can get their stuff uploaded fast!)

As always I am always intriguied by Renderosity's contests. I have even entered a couple of them a few years back. I haven't entered any recently because I figured I just wasn't even "artistic" enough to enter them - plus I have had my mind on other things......

Now before you all get mad at me for the "artistic" thing I know that everyone is an artist here and I was just using it as an excuse! I don't think that the only point of the contests are to win them but to be able to be challenged and show one's work - no matter what skill level one is at

In other words one can enter the contests just for the fun of it!

whew...my first finalized render ever! I was in such a rush to finally get it submitted that I forgot to add a few things. Things such as M3, V3, and the MFD not being free. I also wanted to be poe-lite and give a huge thank you to everyone who made the fantastic props and textures that I used! (I'm #265 if you're curious. ;) )

I finished my entry for the "dinner with the dead" contest. The problem is I can't find any place where I can upload my image. It's Monday, October 22, 2007 3:44 PM (renderosity time) so I have ~8 hour left before 12 PM when the contest will be closed. What should I do, please?

So sorry, but the contest closed Monday, October 22, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. (CST Renderosity Server Time).

12:00pm is noon (mid-day, lunch time). Once we get to 11:59pm tonight, it becomes 12:00a.m. on Tuesday, October 23rd.

We apologize for any confusion. Unfortunately, this does come up from time to time. We hope you will keep rendering and give it another go in the upcoming Holiday Contest.

How about a community favorite award category where we can all vote?

A way to leave comments about individual pictures would also be nice.

I always enjoy the contests where the names of the artist cannot be seen and there is something to shoot for!

Good luck to everyone on your posts, there where some really amazing images in there. LOL In fact Im glad my computer couldnt handle the pic I wanted to do origionally as I would have totally put the wall up on someone who later posted the exact same concept. Its a small world to find so many of us can think alike without speaking to one another.

(I personally think it would be nice if the artists' names were viewable with thier artwork. It would give people a chance to send comments to them at least! There are so many beautifully macabre pictures submitted!)

I think it to be a great idea that artist names are not included.This way no one can call it a popularity contest. all work can be judged fairly! Good luck to all....i also agree with jpiazzo on the community favorite award, love to see it next year.

I agree with the idea of not including the names, though I noticed some of the pieces still had signatures on them. I dont know if this affected the voting at all or not. Anyhoo, congrats to the winners!

As for not putting names on things, I like that idea, but some people might not want something out there without their sig/copywrite on it. Sad thing to worry about, but something to consider.
