For the CG community, the teapot is more than just a primitve object. It's an icon... and an object you can test any shader on. This year, SIGGRAPH had a "teapot exhibit" where you could see the creations of different artists.
The above is an invisible teapot. You can touch the different parts of the teapot with the SensAble device. If you touch a part, such as the handle, the device will sing this little song telling you which part you have touched.
What was cool about this, is that you could actually feel when you touched the teapot, because of the SensAble device.
This is another piece of the exhibit. As you can see, this was about how creatively you made your teapots.
Teapots, teapots, and more teapots... You have glass teapots, ceramic teapots, and even a Poser-head turned into a teapot.
As you can see, SIGGRAPH is not just about graphics, but also about creativity, and this teapot exhibit proves it! I can hardly wait to see what they will come up with next year!
