It’s been said many times that love will find a way. Evidently, love has found its way through the Renderosity Community as well. Most fitting on Valentine’s Day, it is with great pleasure and many thanks to the contributors that we can share these wonderful stories. From the virtual world of the web, to the physical world of real human contact, we bring you the true stories of The Renderosity Love Connection.
Djeser (Christie Knox) and Madasatadpole (David Knox)
David and I met in the Vue gallery in late spring 2003; he posted a funny comment on one of my pics with some suggestions, and we started emailing. We became very good friends, and started chatting via MSN Messenger and then phoning each other. I was living and working in western Germany (I'm American); he's British, working outside of London, but living in St Helens, outside of Liverpool. I went to visit him for 2 weeks on Boxing Day 2003, and met his family, etc., and we really hit it off. We took it in turns to go back and forth at least one weekend a month to visit each other, and texted and spoke on phone daily. We decided to become engaged on 31 May, 2004, and I moved to St Helens in March 2005 with our wedding taking place on 6 May 2005.
What brought us together initially was our love of Vue, which continues to this day, and our admiration for each other's style of artwork. But what kept the relationship going, was our senses of humor (different as they are!), love of flowers, gardening, art, and animals. David got his first kitten, Sox, in September 2003 after listening to my stories about my beloved cat Lucia, and now they're inseparable! We have continued our interest in digital art to this day, both doing a lot of images of faeries and sprites, as well as landscapes. Our styles are different, but we think they complement each other.
Our second bedroom has turned into a computer room. He has 2 desktops and a notebook; I have 3 desktops and a notebook, plus the miscellaneous scanners and printers. We've pretty much decided we need to move into a larger house to have a bigger office, lol!
David is actually a structural welder, and works on bridges, stadiums and large buildings, while I'm retired from my first career and doing some consultant work now.
Bobbie25 (Bobbie Sweet) and umblefugly (Eric Jeffery)
Well, Eric and I met March 3, 2002 in of all places to meet it was in the main Renderosity chat room. I was looking for help to make Posette smile. Now Eric was kind of new to Poser as well but he knew how so we chatted for some time. We had talked for what seemed 16 hrs it was only 10 [giggles].
We kept going back to the chat room for a few days taking and then we got yahoo messenger. This went on for weeks: chat room, yahoo, then moved to webcam (Now get your dirty mind out the gutter!).
We worked on Poser together and chatted every day, sometimes for 16 hours straight. On Aprils Fools day I told Eric that I loved him; he was happy I think [smile].
We talked for 5 months by chat room and yahoo web cam then I asked him to move to Ohio (He lived in California at the time). Well I have never seen someone move so fast in my life [laughing]. He flew here with 140 lbs. of his belongings and moved in with me on August 9th, 2002.
On Valentines Day 2003 I asked Eric to marry me. I even bought him the ring. We married September 24th, 2004 and are trying to have a baby (which we will not name Clint LMAO). We still do Poser and have moved to modeling in Cinema 4D together as well. We both work at home full time on Poser stuff and you can still find us over in the chat room running amuck.
Andi3d (Andrew Rolfe) and JenniSjoberg (Jenni Sjöberg)
Yes, we did indeed meet at Rosity.
Let’s see, we'd known each other for about 2 years. We first met in the rosity chat, when I was still part of 3dmodelz (aka Andix at rosity), and Jen was still known as Miyu. Jen had a few of our products and freebies, and kept trying to talk us into doing really huge, hi-res textures for them, because she works her images so large. Then at the start of 2004, we both found ourselves at a loose end, romantically. And we became an "item" on about Valentines Day 2004.
We first met in person a couple of months later, when I came out to Sweden to visit, and from there I've spent most of the intervening time between than and now in Sweden. We started living together as a couple, during late 2004, and got an apartment in Malmö in December 2004. And in November 2005, we bought a house in Dalarna, Sweden. At present, I'm applying for Swedish citizenship, and we plan to get married later this year.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
