Basic Polygon Reduction

A simple tutorial for LightWave 3D newbies that should help you understand some basic tools for reducing the overall polygon count of your meshes.

STEP ONE



If you start out with two cylinders that need to be optimized you will need to merge their points, delete a couple of polygons and reduce your total polygon count.

For this example we have two cylinders (discs) with 24 segments. The darkened area is where we need to make the joint.
