Using The DAZ Studio Shield Shader

Skill Level: Beginner / Views: 696 / System Requirements: DAZ Studio 3+

This is intended to fill that "Well, how do I use the damn thing!" void that a few of you must have felt after downloading my DAZ Studio Shader For S.E.Asian Shields at the start of the year. ( http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=70322 )Yes, I've only just discovered that I'd forgotten to include any advice in the ReadMe about how to actually use the shield shader.Hopefully this 16 page guide (mostly screenshots) should remedy the situation.(Note: the advice here is just for using the ShieldTMS(Full) shield shader via the Surfaces tab of the DAZ Studio User Interface. It does not cover the generic DMS(Full)/TMS(Full) shaders, and it does not cover using ShaderMixer. I'm looking into doing separate guides for those.)

DAZ Studio 4 Pose Bug Workaround

Skill Level: Beginner / Views: 295

If you use a PZ2 (Poser format) file on Genesis that breaks the joint rotation limits, DAZ Studio will ask you if you want to do so (unless you changed this feature in your preferences). BUT, if you use a DAZ Studio format such as .DSA or .DSF, it WILL NOT ASK, and then you might think the pose is broken because you have an arm sticking out of a head or something. This tutorial provides a simple solution until this bug gets fixed. I submitted the bug to DAZ and it has been verified.

UberEnvironment Light Tutorial

Skill Level: Beginner / Views: 1026 / System Requirements: Any computer with software that can read swf files

The secret to good lighting. This tutorial will explain how to use Daz's Uberenvironment Lights. I have tried to explain how to use this lighting with this tutorial and when you learn this you should not be afraid to add more spotlights and distant lights. The teeth here are a bit dark and I later added an extra spotlight with specular light and the render looked even better so never be afraid to experiment.
