Answer: On the upload form, use the pulldown menu to select the relevant vendor, then type the item into the "Credit for this vendor" field and click the Add button. You can do this for as many different items/vendors as you like.
TIP: If you type the first three letters of the vendor name into the white box at the top of the list of vendors, it will search for their name.
Question: How do I become a tester for upcoming products? Answer: When we are in need of testers, we will post in the Community Center forum with a link to a questionnaire to fill out for anyone interested in a position on the testing team. Question: How do I change my blog title/name? Answer: Notice a link on the right top area of the blog page called "Edit Title". Click this link and make the changes. This will change the blog title that you currently see in bold. To save the changes click the Update button. At any time you decide you want your member name as your blog title just select the Reset button.
You can change the title of your blog at any time as many times as you like just select the Update button to save the changes.

Question: Why do I get the "Address Validation Error" when trying to check-out? Answer: That means the address you entered for the card is different than the address your card issuing bank has on file for you. The most common reason for this type of problem is a recent move and the card company still has your old address on file. You may want to try checking out again with your old address, or making sure you use the address that your credit card company uses to send your monthly statements.
Another common problem for that error is making sure you do not use symbols in the address field and make sure you put house numbers first. Please also make sure you are changing the Country drop down to the right one.

You are correct. As long as the original product cannot be extracted from your final work, then you are within the rights of the EULA for product purchased at the MarketPlace. Prints are perfectly fine.
Giving credit to artists is always nice, but not expected in commercial work.

What do I need to set up to be allowed to buy?

Answer: Hi, there is nothing that you need to setup. We do not store credit card information on our system, so with each order you place, you'll have to fill in your credit card # if that is the payment method you select. We also accept payment via PayPal.
Question: Can I purchase a Gift for someone? Answer: Buying a gift for another Renderosity member is quick and easy to do. Select the item(s) that you want to purchase as a Gift. Locate the Gift for field within the main product page. Enter the gift recipient's Renderosity username in the field, and type in your personal message to them in the Gift Message field. The username must be exact, or the member will not receive the gift.
Select the "Add to Cart" button. If the username is located in our database the item will be added to your cart and display Gift: (username) under the items name.
When you Checkout the Gift Recipient will receive an automated E-Mail notifying them that a Gift has been purchased for them. If it is a download, the Gift Recipient will be able to download the Gift from their Gifts link of their Account page.
Question: I had problems when trying to click the paypal button during checkout. Is there still a way I can pay for my pending order through paypal? Answer: Yes you can still pay for your order. Simply log on to your paypal account and use the SEND MONEY option. Send the order total to payments@renderosity.com . Be sure to include your Renderosity order ID number and/or your Renderosity username.
Once you have completed the payment through paypal, send an email to store@renderosity.com letting us know your payment has been sent and we will go manually mark your order as paid so that you can download your items.

Question: How long are items in the MarketPlace kept on clearance before they disappear, and how can I tell how long a wishlist item on clearance has remaining before it is no longer available? Answer: Once an item goes into clearance, it isn't removed permanently from the MarketPlace unless the vendor requests it's removal, or the item has no sales in 60 days. There isn't a system way to tell how long a product will be available unless you're the vendor and check the sales on that item.
Question: Can you use freestuff and purchased cg for commercial use? Answer: As far as free stuff and purchased it should be in the readme's what you can or can not use them for. If there isn't a readme in the freestuff you will have to ask the maker. The store items all have readme's.

why did that happen? Answer: If the purchase didn't complete, the charge will not be settled on our end.
It should appear as a Pending charge at your bank. Since we won't settle the charge it will fall off within a few days. If you have any questions as to how long it will take to fall off, you should contact your bank to find out their process.

Answer: Make sure that any Download Managers/Accelerators are disabled before attempting to start your download. Our Secure Download system doesn’t allow the use of these tools. Firewalls or Internet Security applications set too aggressively can also interfere. Try disabling these applications before downloading.

Question: How do I use a Coupon, Gift Certificate, or InStore Credit? Answer: You should have received an email letting you know that you have received a Gift Certificate. To use a Gift Certificate copy and paste the Gift Certificate code in the Gift Certificate field of the checkout page and hit the Apply button. If your purchase amount exceeds the Gift Certificate amount you can pay the remaining balance with any of our supported payment methods. (Credit Card, Paypal, Check or Money Order) .

Question: How can I add a vendor to my Favorite list? Answer: It's very easy to do this. Simply go to one of the vendor's products, and next to their name on the product page, you will see two links, one for "Contact" and the other for "Add to Favorites". Simply click that latter link, and the vendor will be on your favorites list, visible from your homepage. You can also add a note next to the vendor's name if you want to remind yourself why you added them.
You will now receive a notification in your email when the vendor releases a new product.
Question: I am not able to extract the files from the archive using Stuffit Expander 10 on Mac. What's wrong? Answer: As noted in the application's documentation, this version of Expander is unable to handle archive files which have more than 31 characters in their name. Renaming the file (to shorten its name) will enable you to extract the files from the archive. Until the application is updated to fix this issue, we do not recommend using Stuffit Expander version 10.
Question: Why am I getting the "Invalid account number" error when trying to check-out? Answer: This usually indicates a typo in your credit card number or security number. Once you get to your account page, simply click on the order id# and your downloads will be available there.
Question: Why is my credit card declined? Answer: A credit card decline comes from your bank. Your bank does not provide us with specific information about the decline. You will need to contact your bank for the details. Usually, the expiration date, name, address or zip didn't match what is on file with your bank. Sometimes the card company places a hold on cards when concerned that recent purchases may be fraudulent (or out of norm for someone's spending habits), a payment is late, or the credit limit has been reached.
Question: What is a wishlist? How do I add a product there? Answer: Your Wishlist is a convenient list for you of all the products you'd like to buy or receive.
When you view a product that you like, you can add it to your Wishlist simply by pressing the "Add to Wishlist" link directly underneath the price.
Once the product is in your wishlist, you can choose to make it public or private. If you keep it private, nobody but you can see it. If you make it public, it can be seen by people visiting the "Store" section of your homepage, and they can use it to buy you gifts.
If you want to remove a product from your Wishlist, just press the Remove link. You can also use the "Add to Cart" link to buy the item immediately.
You can sort your wishlist by item name, price, or vendor by pressing the appropriate column heading.
And finally, when a product in your wishlist goes on sale, you will receive an automated message alerting you to the lower price.

Protecting your copyright can be a daunting task. The following steps are being provided as a guide to assist you with protection of your copyrighted work.
If you locate your copyrighted work being distributed by an unauthorized web site you can do the following to try and have it removed.
1) Use a site to locate the Abuse E-Mail address registered for the site that is distributing your work. The site that I like to use is DNSstuff.com (www.dnsstuff.com) . There are other sites available but DNSstuff.com is very easy to use. Visit DNSstuff.com and paste the sites address in the “Abuse Lookup” field and click the WHOIS Lookup button. The registered abuse E-Mail address for the site will be returned. It can be abuse@, Admin@, postmaster@, etc….

If you use the "Mark all read" when you finish reading a forum, new posts since then will display in yellow with a gold star (instead of the normal white/silver.) This will last until you clear cookies.

Answer: In the Freestuff area you will see a link at the top that says "My Settings" you can choose the freestuff item you want displayed as your "featured freestuff" on your homepage. You can also choose how many thumbs you want to appear on each page of the freestuff area and turn your "nudity" filter on or off.
Question: How do I add an image to my favorite images gallery? Or an artist? Answer: Open the gallery image that you wish to add. Underneath the image you'll see a row of buttons. Press the second button, "Add Image" to put the individual image on your favorites list, or use the third button, "Add artist", to add the artist as a favorite.

Question: How can I use an avatar that will show in my gallery and forum posts? Answer: To add or change an avatar, go to MY PROFILE (on the sidebar link) and about half way down the profile page you will see the place to upload your avatar. Once you have uploaded the avatar pic, then click "Save Changes" at the bottom.
The maximum dimensions are 100x130. The Maximum Kb is 25.
Your avatar displays next to your gallery images, gallery comments, and forum posts, as well as in your Friends' Friends Lists.

Answer: If you upload an image by hitting “preview” and then don’t finish by hitting “save” or “abort”, that image just kinda floats out there taking up server space. So, that counts toward your one per day. Abandoned pending images get purged every night at 2 a.m. system time.
If you upload an image successfully then delete it, that does not count on your upload for the day so you can re upload again.

Question: One of my images states that there are two ratings of the image. Where do I go to see the actual ratings? I've seen rated images(how many stars) under "best ratings", but I don't see any stars under my images in my gallery, even though the views claim they loved them. Am I missing a place to view my ratings? Answer: You can't see the rating on an image until its been rated at least 4 times ( this is stated on the drop down where you rate an image). Once the image has received 4 or more ratings, you will see the "stars" in the statistics box that show the average rating, 5 stars being the best

So this means the image was rated 78 times and the average of those 78 ratings put this image at 5 stars.

Thanks Linda Answer: Yes, you can. The quickest way to get the link to your own gallery is to go to my gallery (link from the Galleries menu) and then look under "My recent uploads" and click on your username underneath any of the gallery thumbnails.

Ratings are for entertainment purposes only. If a member wants to give you a rating along with a comment to show how they feel about your work this is an option they can use. The ratings are from 1 to 5 stars with 5 being the best on down to 1. Then once at least 2 or more ratings are made on one of your images the system calculates the "average" rating for that image and it will appear on the statistics box for that image.

Question: Good Morning to all, My question is how do I remove the Ratings Option at the bottom of my uploaded images, I still want to receive comments but no the ratings, any help would be much appreciated. (please excuse my spelling) Answer: For new uploads, remove the checkmark from "Allow viewers to rate this image?" option (near the bottom of the page). For existing gallery images, press the Edit icon under the image and again remove the check from that option and press the Save Image button.
Question: How do I delete an image from my gallery? Answer: You can delete individual images in your gallery by going to the full image view and underneath you will see the links to edit, report, delete. Just click the delete button and this will remove your image.
If you want to delete your entire gallery, you will see that link when you go to MY GALLERY.
Question: How do I replace my thumb once I have uploaded it. Answer: You go to my gallery and click on the thumb to bring up the larger image. At the bottom of the image is a button to edit click on this. In the space to upload a thumb you would upload your new thumb and click save changes. Once this is done do a hard refresh (F5) to see it.
Question: What does subscribing to a gallery mean? Answer: This means you are requesting to have an ebot every time someone uploads an image to any galleries you have subscribed to. So please keep in mind that in some large active galleries, for instance the Poser gallery, if you subscribe you will be receiving lots of ebots.
To subscribe to a gallery, go to MY GALLERY OPTIONS then click on My Gallery Subscriptions.
Question: Why was my gallery image moved from the Poser gallery to the Product Showcase gallery? Answer: When an image is moved from a gallery that you uploaded it to, its because that wasn't the appropriate gallery for your artwork so its move to the appropriate gallery.
For example, images that are posted containing promotional advertising for a product now available or coming soon, its moved to the Product Showcase gallery as that is where you are allowed to post promotional type images. So even if the image is rendered in Poser, it cannot be uploaded to the Poser gallery if it is advertising a product you are selling or plan to sell.

promote the Exclusive product.

Question: How do I change my monthly payment method? Answer: Address or payment change information should be done from your Vendor Control Room and must be done prior to the 25th of the month in order for it to be processed in the current months payment cycle.Payment questions should be sent to payments@renderosity.comVendor Control Room -> Links -> My Vendor Details -> Go
Question: How do I delete one of my products from the MarketPlace? Answer: Products can only be deleted by one of the MarketPlace Managers, ClintH or Debbie M.
There are several ways to make the request.
1) Send the request to vendors@renderosity.com from the E-Mail address that you have registered at Renderosity. This is for security reasons.2) Send ClintH or Debbie M. a Site Mail.3) Post your request in the private Vendors Support forum.
Question: How do I download my own products from the MarketPlace? Answer: Select Vendor Control Room from the side bar.
Select Links -> Product List -> GoSelect "Edit" to the right of the products name.Select "Edit Product Files" from the top right of the Edit screen.Click the filename to start the download.
Question: How do I place my products on-sale in the MarketPlace? Answer: Placing your products on sale is an easy process that is done from your accounting page in the Vendor Control Room (VCR). You can place as many single products as you like or your entire store on sale with discounts of up to 30% off the retail price.Products appearing on a members Private or Public Wishlist will receive and automated E-Mail informing them that your product has been placed on sale. Question: How do I sell in the Renderosity Marketplace? Answer: The first step is to read our submission guidelines and Marketplace policies. It is very important that you read the guidelines and policies thoroughly before trying to upload items.

Then, you will need to submit your Vendor Information using the"Vendor Control Room" link on our side bar.
Once you've completed that form, you can use that same link to upload your items. Under the "Links" drop down menu, there is an "upload product" option select that and click the "go" button.
Question: How do I update my mailing or PayPal email address for my payments? Answer:
Go to your <a href="http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vendor.php"> Vendor Control Room</a> and then into your <a href="https://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vendor_signup.php">"My Vendor Details"</a> listed under the "Links" drop down menu.
After changing your information, please be sure to scroll to the bottom and click the "Submit" button, so that it will be changed in our accounting section for payment purposes.
Changes to your payment information need to be made by the 25th of each month in order to be updated for the payments that are completed before the 7th of each month.

Question: What are the guidelines for banner ads? Answer: No nudity. This implies no clothes, clothes that are transparent or blurring of nude images.
Minimal cleavage exposure. The majority of the female breast must be clothed (at least 80%).

No placement of the hands in genital areas including female breasts.

Question: What file formats are accepted in the MarketPlace? Answer: PC Only: Files may be submitted as a .ZIP.
MAC Only: Files must be submitted as a .SIT.
PC Only or PC/MAC: Files must be submitted as a .ZIP.
Question: What is the minimum price for a product in the MarketPlace? Answer: Store items are priced at a minimum of $5 for one zip file, $7.50 for 2 zip files and $10.00 for 3 zip files. Pricing decisions are left to the artist. You are encouraged to research the average pricing for such items. The Renderosity Staff may offer pricing suggestions based on previous store experience.
Question: What type of payment options are available to receive my vendor payment, and how do I receive my payment? Answer: You can select check or PayPal in your Vendor Control Room under your “My Vendor Details”. If you select check as your method of payment, a check will be mailed to the address you provide in your “My Vendor Details”, if you select PayPal, then a PayPal payment is sent to the email address you provide.
We also have wire payments, but there is a $30.00 wire transfer fee that is deducted from your payment. If you require a wire transfer, please contact payments@renderosity.com so that we can get the required information from you to setup the wire transfer.

Question: Can I get an email to let me know when I have a new sitemail message? Answer: Yes, you can click on the SITE MAIL link at the top of the sidebar, then click the "notifications by email" option ON.
Once you have turned them on then you will receive an email each time you receive a new sitemail.
Question: How do I communicate with another member? Answer: The SiteMail Link is on the top Navigational bar of any Renderosity web page.
SiteMail or message a member: SiteMail sends information to members within the site. It will not send them an email. It is a tool to communicate within the site.
Sending members mail within the site: Click on the SiteMail link located at the top of the site under the banner. Enter the username, subject and message and click the Send button. The member will receive the message when they are logged on to the site and go to their site mail area. You will receive confirmation once someone has received your mail. OR
Anywhere you see a user/member name you should be able to click on it and it will take you to that member's homepage. SiteMail is located at the bottom of the page on every member's homepage just above the send an email. There you complete the information and send them a message. ... [more]
Question: How do I know when I have SiteMail? Answer: A link at the top of the site will appear that says "You have X# of messages." That link is to SiteMail Inbox. We will be able to reply to members or Compose new messages from your Inbox.
If a member emails you, then it will go to your email and not be located on the site. Only using the SiteMail will the message be on the site.
Question: I just received a Friendslist request in my sitemail. What is this feature and what does it do? I don't see it anywhere and my searches have turned up nothing. This should be documented in the FAQs. Answer: This feature allows you to add your friends here at Renderosity to your homepage.

Question: If I upload an image of a nude statue (male/female) showing bare breasts/genitals/ buttocks is it OK if the thumb is a scaled down version of the full image? Answer: For a statue yes it would be acceptable
Question: If you remove my thumbnail with nudity/violence in it, will I lose my comments and rankings? Answer: No, we place your image into the Holding area until you supply us with a new thumbnail. We then replace your image in the gallery and any comments, rankings and views remain with it. If you do not supply us with a new thumbnail with no nudity/violence in it within the 48 hour timeframe, the image will then be permanently removed.
Question: Is this policy change the result of Paypal or political pressure? Answer: No, it's as a result of general member feedback and to provide an overall more professional impression of the galleries, freestuff, blogs, tutorials and homepages.
Question: When did the policy change so that no nudity/violence would be allowed in the thumbnails for the galleries, blogs, freestuff, tutorials and homepages? Answer: This policy change was announced on January 22nd, 2007 and went into effect on January 24th, 2007.
Question: What about see-through underwear, is this allowed? Answer: If the nipples, genitals, pubic hair or buttock cleft can be seen through the clothing, then it is not allowed on the thumbnail.
Question: There are lots of nude thumbs already in the gallery. Will we be expected to change our old thumbnails? Answer: No, we will only be applying this rule going forward. There are just too many gallery images in existence to make it practical for us to require this. However if you do want to update your thumbnails, you are very welcome to do so. Just press the "Edit" icon under your image from within your gallery and you can upload a new thumb there.
Question: Will you be issuing warnings/bannings if we upload nude or violent thumbs? Answer: Not initially, we will be going through an educational period so that everyone can get used to the new guidelines. However if someone deliberately sets out to break the rules after being educated and reminded, then it would be treated as a standard TOS violation.
Question: What is the Video Center? Answer: The Video section is for educational, instructional tutorials and Renderosity advertising related to the 2D/3D industry only. No personal videos are allowed.
Videos are subject to the following guidelines:
No human nudity is allowed in the videos. Untextured mannequins and wire meshes are allowed for instructional purposes. Violent imagery is not allowed. You should own the copyright, or have the right to use, any materials shown, including audio files.
