Question: Hello!! when someone have one of my item in is wishlist, did he receive a note when I put this item in special? Answer: Hello,
This depends on when you start your sale, if you do a scheduled sale, then you will get the wishlist ebots. But if you start a sale right away with the product on sale as soon as you hit the button, then no wishlist ebots will go out.
Question: How do I become a tester for upcoming products? Answer: When we are in need of testers, we will post in the Community Center forum with a link to a questionnaire to fill out for anyone interested in a position on the testing team. We're currently filled right now and not looking for new testers.
Thank you for your interest in joining the Testing Team.
Question: What happens when I become an affiliate? Answer: We send you a Renderosity link that has a special tracking code in it. You put this link anywhere on your site. Whenever a new visitor reaches our site through your link, it's counted by our tracking system.
Question: What is an affiliate program? Answer: Think of it like a referral program. Renderosity is always looking for new people to help grow our community. One way to do that is by placing banners/links on other websites, or "affiliates". Our affiliates will have a link somewhere on their site that links back to Renderosity.com. Since the majority of our members are in touch with other digital artists, it makes sense to offer them a chance to become an affiliate for Renderosity.
Question: So how do I make money as an affiliate? Answer: As said before, whenever a new visitor comes to Renderosity through your link, we are tracking it. If they make a purchase within 60 days of that first visit, you get a percentage of the sale. So, the more customers you send to Renderosity, the more money you make! There is no limit on the amount of money you can make.
Question: What do I do with this link you give me? Answer: Whatever you like! You have the option of doing a text link, or a banner advertisement that you can use anywhere on the web. You can add it to your website, blog, even your MySpace. You can also add it to forum signatures for other sites that you frequent. The possibilities are endless. For more tips on how to use your affiliate link, email JasonK, the Renderosity Marketing Guy!

Question: What is a blog? Answer: A blog is a Web Log. Mostly used to post journal or diary events. Basically whatever you want to talk about. They tend to be more personal than forums. Just stay within our site Terms of Service. Take a look at other blogs to get an idea.
A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.
A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.
Blogs are alternatively called web logs or weblogs. However, "blog" seems less likely to cause confusion, as "web log" can also mean a server's log files.
The Renderosity blog area allows site members to create and post their own blog entries. Once logged in, a member may view his/her most recent posts, view all posts, or add a new post. Posts consist of a title, body, post date, and post tim... [more]
Question: Why do I get the "Address Validation Error" when trying to check-out? Answer: That means the address you entered for the card is different than the address your card issuing bank has on file for you. The most common reason for this type of problem is a recent move and the card company still has your old address on file. You may want to try checking out again with your old address, or making sure you use the address that your credit card company uses to send your monthly statements.
Another common problem for that error is making sure you do not use symbols in the address field and make sure you put house numbers first. Please also make sure you are changing the Country drop down to the right one.
Question: What do the symbols ($,R,C) mean under an item picture in the MarketPlace?
Answer: R stands for Exclusively sold at Renderosity Marketplace only
$ stands for Sale
C stands for "Clearance"
Question: How can I add a vendor to my favorites list? Answer: Follow this link, and enter the information needed to add a vendor to your Favorites list.
http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/homepage_edit.php?FavoriteVendors=Y
Question: Are purchases made here freely usable for commercial renders provided that none of the products can be copied or reproduced from the renders?
For instance, can I use character textures on figures in finished renderings that end up being printed as long as there is no way for other parties to retrieve and reuse the textures? Is it necessary to list all content providers whose products were used for my finished renders? Answer:
You are correct. As long as the original product cannot be extracted from your final work, then you are within the rights of the EULA for product purchased at the MarketPlace. Prints are perfectly fine.
Giving credit to artists is always nice, but not expected in commercial work.
Question: I have been a member of Rendeosity for a number of years, but have never purchased anything.
What do I need to set up to be allowed to buy?
EG. set up an account, lodge a credit card number, etc.
Answer: Hi, there is nothing that you need to setup. We do not store credit card information on our system, so with each order you place, you'll have to fill in your credit card # if that is the payment method you select. We also accept payment via PayPal.
Question: Can I purchase a Gift for someone? Answer: Buying a gift for another Renderosity member is quick and easy to do. Select the item(s) that you want to purchase as a Gift. Locate the Gift for field within the main product page. Enter the gift recipient's Renderosity username in the field, and type in your personal message to them in the Gift Message field. The username must be exact, or the member will not receive the gift.
Select the "Add to Cart" button. If the username is located in our database the item will be added to your cart and display Gift: (username) under the items name.
When you Checkout the Gift Recipient will receive an automated E-Mail notifying them that a Gift has been purchased for them. If it is a download, the Gift Recipient will be able to download the Gift from their Gifts link of their Account page.
Question: I had problems when trying to click the paypal button during checkout. Is there still a way I can pay for my pending order through paypal? Answer: Yes you can still pay for your order. Simply log on to your paypal account and use the SEND MONEY option. Send the order total to payments@renderosity.com . Be sure to include your Renderosity order ID number and/or your Renderosity username.
Once you have completed the payment through paypal, send an email to store@renderosity.com letting us know your payment has been sent and we will go manually mark your order as paid so that you can download your items.
Thank you
Question: How long are items in the MarketPlace kept on clearance before they disappear, and how can I tell how long a wishlist item on clearance has remaining before it is no longer available? Answer: Once an item goes into clearance, it isn't removed permanently from the MarketPlace unless the vendor requests it's removal, or the item has no sales in 60 days. There isn't a system way to tell how long a product will be available unless you're the vendor and check the sales on that item.
Question: Can you use freestuff and purchased cg for commercial use? Answer: As far as free stuff and purchased it should be in the readme's what you can or can not use them for. If there isn't a readme in the freestuff you will have to ask the maker. The store items all have readme's.
Question: Hi, Renderosity Team.
Reading the explanation of "R", "$" and "C" symbols, I was a bit... surprised : because lots of items with an "R" (therefore supposed exclusive) can be found on another famous 3D store. Did you know it ?
Note that I am just curious to know why... Answer:
It's an honor system that if a vendor tells us a product is exclusive "R", then we take their word for it unless we find out otherwise. If you could let us know which products are available elsewhere, it would help us greatly. If you wouldn't mind sending this information to store@renderosity.com, we would be very grateful.
Question: I do not see an option to have Renderosity delete my credit card information, is it held in a data base somewhere or deleted after each order? Answer: Renderosity does not store Credit Card information anywhere on the site.
Question: i tried to pay for a poser item but my card was declined
when i checked my bank statement and money was withdrawn
why did that happen? Answer: If the purchase didn't complete, the charge will not be settled on our end.
It should appear as a Pending charge at your bank. Since we won't settle the charge it will fall off within a few days. If you have any questions as to how long it will take to fall off, you should contact your bank to find out their process.
Question: Since this is my first purchase I realize I have to wait for up to 24 hours before being about to download the product. However, will I be notified via email when I am able to download?
Thanks,
Answer: Yes, you will receive an email from the Marketplace staff when they've verified your first time purchase with instructions on how to get to your purchase history to download.
Thanks
Question: I can't get my files to download successfully, what is wrong? Now it says I have exceeded my download limit. Answer: Make sure that any Download Managers/Accelerators are disabled before attempting to start your download. Our Secure Download system doesn’t allow the use of these tools. Firewalls or Internet Security applications set too aggressively can also interfere. Try disabling these applications before downloading.
If you receive the error that you have exceeded your download limit, please contact store@renderosity.com or post in the Customer Support Forum to have your downloads reset.
Question: im new at this, can i use some of the 3d models on daz studio and if i can, how do i download it to daz. thank you. Answer: Hi,
Welcome.
You need to contact the vendor directly for product support using D|S. Please be sure to read the product description first, because there are some vendors that do not offer product support for D|S.
You might also find it very useful to ask quesitons in the D|S forum since those are seasoned users of that software.
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showforum.php?forum_id=12452 here is a link to the D|S Forum
Question: Why can't I download the item(s) I just bought? Answer: If this is your first purchase in the Renderosity Marketplace, your account will have to be manually verified before your downloads will be activated. First time buyer verification can take up to 24 hours.
If your order is needed immediately, you may email store@renderosity.com or call us toll-free within the US 1-866-220-2949 Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm CST (server time).
This verification is required to protect you, the merchants, and Renderosity from stolen credit cards or fraudulent use of Paypal accounts.
Question: How do I get Gifts that someone bought for me? Answer: Just go to the Gifts Link on your store Account Page From there you can click on the Link that is in parentheses to download the item(s).
Please check out the Download Problems page, if you are having problems downloading your gift. If you continue to have problems with your downloads, please email store@renderosity.com.
Question: How do I use a Coupon, Gift Certificate, or InStore Credit? Answer: You should have received an email letting you know that you have received a Gift Certificate. You can click on the link and it will take you to gift certificate page. OR You can go to your Account Page under the Gift Certs link and see your gift certificate code.
To use a Gift Certificate copy and paste the Gift Certificate code in the Gift Certificate field of the checkout page and hit the Apply button. If your purchase amount exceeds the Gift Certificate amount you can pay the remaining balance with any of our supported payment methods. (Credit Card, Paypal, Check or Money Order) .
If your purchase amount is less than the Gift Certificate amount the remaining balance will be calculated and will be available for future purchases. Gift certificates are currently good for two years.
Question: I want to buy an item in the Marketplace for my friend. How can I do that? Answer: The first step is to make sure that both you and your friend are members of Renderosity, otherwise they won't be able to download the item you bought them.
If the recipient (the person you're buying for) has a public wishlist on their homepage, you can click the "Add to Cart" button direct from their homepage, and proceed directly to the checkout step.
If not, go to the product page for the item you want to buy as a gift. Just above the "Add to Cart" button is a space for you to put your friend's username. Enter their username (not their real name or email, it must be their Renderosity username.) As soon as you enter their username, a little window will open for you to enter any message you want to send, for example "Happy Birthday!" or "Thanks for all your help!". When you've finished entering your message, click the Add to Cart button.
At the next screen, review your purchase to make sure you're happy with everything, and then p... [more]
Question: How can I add a vendor to my Favorite list? Answer: It's very easy to do this. Simply go to one of the vendor's products, and next to their name on the product page, you will see two links, one for "Contact" and the other for "Add to Favorites". Simply click that latter link, and the vendor will be on your favorites list, visible from your homepage. You can also add a note next to the vendor's name if you want to remind yourself why you added them.
You will now receive a notification in your email when the vendor releases a new product.
Question: I am not able to extract the files from the archive using Stuffit Expander 10 on Mac. What's wrong? Answer: As noted in the application's documentation, this version of Expander is unable to handle archive files which have more than 31 characters in their name. Renaming the file (to shorten its name) will enable you to extract the files from the archive. Until the application is updated to fix this issue, we do not recommend using Stuffit Expander version 10.
Question: Why am I getting the "Invalid account number" error when trying to check-out? Answer: This usually indicates a typo in your credit card number or security number. For Visa, MasterCard & Discover make sure you have entered all 16 digits without spaces or dashes. The security number is a three digit number located on the signature strip.
Question: What does 'Clearance' mean to a buyer?
Why do Clearance items often/always have a crossed-out 'List Price' as $0.50, yet a 'Price' that is much higher?
TIA
Vince Answer: Hi Vince,
Clearance products are reduced 25% off the regular retail without allowing the price to go below $5.00. $0.50 crossed out is actually $8.50, the line through an 8 gives the appearance of a 0.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your continued patronage in the MarketPlace.
Question: Hi
Is is possible to redeem more than one gift certificate at one time? Answer: Unfortunately it is only possible to apply one Gift Certificate code per order.
Thank you!
Question: Hi. I am fairly new to using Poser to create artwork and have yet to learne all the in's and out's. I have been running a search for Poser/Daz Studio for spacecraft but some of the items appear to indicate they are Bryce format. Can you please tell me why these appear as part of my search items found? Thanks. Answer: Hi there,
If you are searching the Marketplace, there is no category-specific search.
If you are searching the Freestuff area, you will want to select the Poser section before entering your search term and pressing "Search".
By the way, anything in .obj or .3ds format can be imported and used in Poser - you're not restricted to just the .pp2 format.
Kind regards,

Question: I would like to leave a Product Review for a product that's being sold here at Renderosity. However, I haven't been able to find a way to leave a review for this product because I bought it via ContentParadise rather than directly from Renderosity. How do I post a Review for Renderosity products that I purchased through Content Paradise? Will appreciate a response from you.
Thank you.
Answer: Hi there,
Unfortunately our product review system only works for products bought onsite here. You might like to send the vendor a sitemail (look for the "Contact" link on the product page, next to their name) with your feedback, and if they wish, they can include it in their product description.
Kind regards,

Question: Why is my credit card declined? Answer: A credit card decline comes from your bank. Your bank does not provide us with specific information about the decline. You will need to contact your bank for the details. Usually, the expiration date, name, address or zip didn't match what is on file with your bank. Sometimes the card company places a hold on cards when concerned that recent purchases may be fraudulent (or out of norm for someone's spending habits), a payment is late, or the credit limit has been reached.
Question: What is a wishlist? How do I add a product there? Answer: Your Wishlist is a convenient list for you of all the products you'd like to buy or receive.
When you view a product that you like, you can add it to your Wishlist simply by pressing the "Add to Wishlist" link directly underneath the price.
Once the product is in your wishlist, you can choose to make it public or private. If you keep it private, nobody but you can see it. If you make it public, it can be seen by people visiting the "Store" section of your homepage, and they can use it to buy you gifts.
If you want to remove a product from your Wishlist, just press the Remove link. You can also use the "Add to Cart" link to buy the item immediately.
You can sort your wishlist by item name, price, or vendor by pressing the appropriate column heading.
And finally, when a product in your wishlist goes on sale, you will receive an automated message alerting you to the lower price.

Answer: If you upload an image by hitting “preview” and then don’t finish by hitting “save” or “abort”, that image just kinda floats out there taking up server space. So, that counts toward your one per day. Abandoned pending images get purged every night at 2 a.m. system time.
If you upload an image successfully then delete it, that does not count on your upload for the day so you can re upload again.
Question: I've added Favorite Artists, however when I did I didn't turn on email notification. How do I go back and turn email notification back on for each favorite artist? Answer: Hi there,
If you go to the attached link, you can use the "Turn on" or "Turn off" for each artist to set notifications as you desire.
Question: Where are my favorite images, artists located? Answer: You can find your favorite images and artists by clicking on MY FAVORITES when you are in the “galleries”.
Question: Is there someway I can see who has added my pictures to their favorites? I'd like to send them a message showing my appreciation that they liked my work.
Answer: Yes, if you go to MY FAVORITES link while in the gallery and then click the [who favorited me] link you will see the usernames of the members that have added you to their favorites list.
Question: how long does a gallery have to be inactive before it is removed Answer: Unless you delete your gallery images, they never become inactive. They will be archived after 45 days so that means a member would have to search the archives to find them but they are still in our database
Thanks
Question: One of my images states that there are two ratings of the image. Where do I go to see the actual ratings? I've seen rated images(how many stars) under "best ratings", but I don't see any stars under my images in my gallery, even though the views claim they loved them. Am I missing a place to view my ratings? Answer: You can't see the rating on an image until its been rated at least 4 times ( this is stated on the drop down where you rate an image). Once the image has received 4 or more ratings, you will see the "stars" in the statistics box that show the average rating, 5 stars being the best
Example: Ratings: 78
So this means the image was rated 78 times and the average of those 78 ratings put this image at 5 stars.
Hope this helps.
Question: How is the TOP 100 rated, commented and viewed calculated for the last 45 days and of all time? Answer: Top 100 Most Viewed - RecentThis dataset is calculated based on which images were viewed the most in the last 45 days. For any two or more images with the same number of views, the ones with the most recent last view are before the ones with the least recent last view.
Top 100 Most Viewed - All TimeThis dataset is calculated based on which images were viewed the most ever. Ties are handled the same way as above.
Top 100 Most Commented - RecentThis dataset is calculated based on which images have received the most comments in the last 45 days. For any two or more images with the same number of comments, the ones with the most recent last comment are before the ones with the least recent last comment.
Top 100 Most Commented - All TimeIdentical to most commented recent, except without the 45-day restriction.
Top 100 Best Rated - All TimeThe most complicated of the three, this is sorted first by the ratings of images. The higher the rating (5-star) the higher they are on the list. For... [more]

Question: Is it possible to add a direct link from my website to my gallery at renderosity, if so, How
Thanks Linda Answer: Yes, you can. The quickest way to get the link to your own gallery is to go to my gallery (link from the Galleries menu) and then look under "My recent uploads" and click on your username underneath any of the gallery thumbnails.
The link will look like http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=XXXXX (where XXXXX is your unique member ID number.)
Question: It seems to be necessary to be a Renderosity member before you can view the galleries here. Is that correct?
I ask this because there are friends who I would like to invite to view my gallery images here and it looks as though they cannot do so unless the register as members here. Some of them do not have any involvement in making art or in using the software and products that are sold here. Is there a way to give them viewing access to my gallery without them having to sign up?
-zescanner / Jeff Willard Answer: Hi there,
You can give non-members the link below. They will be able to view all of your non-nude, non-violent-tagged images, but they will not be able to comment, save to favourites, or use any of the other gallery functionality.
Kind regards,
Karen Janes

Question: what are the ratings for Answer: Hi,
Ratings are for entertainment purposes only. If a member wants to give you a rating along with a comment to show how they feel about your work this is an option they can use. The ratings are from 1 to 5 stars with 5 being the best on down to 1. Then once at least 2 or more ratings are made on one of your images the system calculates the "average" rating for that image and it will appear on the statistics box for that image.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Question: Good Morning to all, My question is how do I remove the Ratings Option at the bottom of my uploaded images, I still want to receive comments but no the ratings, any help would be much appreciated. (please excuse my spelling) Answer: For new uploads, remove the checkmark from "Allow viewers to rate this image?" option (near the bottom of the page). For existing gallery images, press the Edit icon under the image and again remove the check from that option and press the Save Image button.
Question: How do I delete an image from my gallery? Answer: You can delete individual images in your gallery by going to the full image view and underneath you will see the links to edit, report, delete. Just click the delete button and this will remove your image.
If you want to delete your entire gallery, you will see that link when you go to MY GALLERY.
Question: How do I replace my thumb once I have uploaded it. Answer: You go to my gallery and click on the thumb to bring up the larger image. At the bottom of the image is a button to edit click on this. In the space to upload a thumb you would upload your new thumb and click save changes. Once this is done do a hard refresh (F5) to see it.
Question: What does subscribing to a gallery mean? Answer: This means you are requesting to have an ebot every time someone uploads an image to any galleries you have subscribed to. So please keep in mind that in some large active galleries, for instance the Poser gallery, if you subscribe you will be receiving lots of ebots.
To subscribe to a gallery, go to MY GALLERY OPTIONS then click on My Gallery Subscriptions.
Question: Why was my gallery image moved from the Poser gallery to the Product Showcase gallery? Answer: When an image is moved from a gallery that you uploaded it to, its because that wasn't the appropriate gallery for your artwork so its move to the appropriate gallery.
For example, images that are posted containing promotional advertising for a product now available or coming soon, its moved to the Product Showcase gallery as that is where you are allowed to post promotional type images. So even if the image is rendered in Poser, it cannot be uploaded to the Poser gallery if it is advertising a product you are selling or plan to sell.
