| Hi. 3 Days, thats how long I just spent trying to get this to render. P5 crashed over and over (and over) again, I finally had to settle for a pathetic 640 by 660 at 200 dpi as nothing else would work. This means I kind-of have mixed feelings about this image, I happy (because it's Tao and she makes me smile) but I'm angry (because it shouldn't be this hard to finish a render!!!!!!!!!!). Hands up who wants a more stable rendering engine in Poser 6? This is using my own custom light set built to work with the staggeringly good Hyperreal for V3 (which also works with Young ten Laura btw :D). I'm not kidding - if you've got P5 this is just too good to miss. 8 spot lights and two infinite lights - took quite a while to setup. I think it worked pretty well when I finally got it to render. Thanks for looking :) Cheer me up and give me a comment :) Production Credits: face_off - The incredible Hyperreal for V3 Morris - and Blackhearted - Black eyes, Actual Eyes 2 |

Excellent, very good work!
Awesome realism on this one!! You're right, P5 renderer is not stable. Hands up from me on more stable engine for P6 :) EXCELLENT!!
by tattdnpierced on Jan 23, 2005 1:45:06 pm [homepage] I am dealing with the same problem and I found out that it was the raytracing of the hair that takes the time to render... If you take your same image and render without the hair it will be quick. Key is to raytrace the head without having to do the hair.
Great skin texture and wonderful eyes! She's lovely! And yes, I know this problem, so *hand up* for better render!!!
Gorgeous looking texture!!! EXCELLENT work!!!
Stunningly good! Excellent work!
by iamkate101 on Jan 23, 2005 2:20:32 pm [homepage] I think she looks just incredible!! Your lighting is excellent. I have such a hard time with lighting ::sigh:: dont think I will ever get the hang of it! this is just excellent and I think your time was well spent working on it :)
She looks great, excellent work !!
Gorgeous portrait what a little doll and such beautiful eyes!
by ilumminati on Jan 23, 2005 3:22:57 pm [homepage] Bravo maestro! Just curious: what happened with your Poser to Maya work? Are we going to see something from that?
This is a knockout image. You light setup is excellent. Love the pose, skin tones, and her teeth even look good!
Yep....Pretty real! Even down to the little beauty mark near her mouth. She's beautiful in that special beauty children have. Full of fun and innocence. Hate that it took so long and gave you so many problems, but well worth the effort!
by richardson on Jan 23, 2005 6:44:40 pm [homepage] Hawke, you can get this with 2 spots and maybe 3 infinites. 8 spots with shadows will fill up to your max in no time. Closeups are a pc killer too. Nice render and agree about HRS!
by NEThingbutNOcent on Jan 23, 2005 7:18:56 pm [homepage] Beautiful portrait! That expression is priceless! Excellent job! :)
Your light did the trick!!!!! Great image with a beautiful face and expression.
P5 hasn't crashed on me for a LONG time now (about 3 months) when I use the firefly renderer. (I was having the same problem with Vue as well). I upgraded to 3 GB of 3200 RAM. I plan to MAX my PC out at 4 GB this week. I am hoping that P6 has beeter memory utilization. But until then... your image, even at this size, ROCKS!!
by STEVIEUKWONDER (online now) on Jan 24, 2005 8:57:08 am [homepage] Well Stuart, I must say, this is absolutely exemplary. Very beautiful indeed. You are extremely talented. Steve :o)
sure looks real .. and your own lightsetting there is just awesome. Sorry to hear the Poser has such unstable renderengine (I just ordered Poser so could get me a little worried :-) .. Your work here is excellent Hawke (btw. what a cool hair you made also)
Yep my p5 render crashed after an hour!I upped the virtual memory and rendered a 1400 x 1400 in about 30 mins fine!I love that pac and your lights look great!!Bye calum
Really nice portrait!!! Love your texture and light. If you're having a problem with the crashing you might want to look at your bucket size. I started going with a 16 and then 8 instead of the default 32 and it cleared up that issue with me. Of course my renders 300dpi 3600x? were still up around a day on my dual gig mac. Best of luck! -jay
Yes she is! Fantastic face and expression! Very beautiful eyes and a marvellous natural lightning!!! ***V***
