Mallard Pond

While warm waters are calm,
On the little mallard pond,
There's a lot of activity;
All of nature's glory to see.

Mallard Pairs do abound,
With insects all around
Bullfrogs reverberate,
And ladybugs might mate.

It's a joy to see a rich habitat,
So often I went to watch and just sat,
Soaking in all the wildlife around me,
Then I'd return home refreshed as could be!
~Lyne's Creations

It's a very good idea to ZOOM for all the tiny details, even though this is a pretty small image as a whole due to my computer's limits. This pond is VERY like one near my home that I really did go to many times over past years!

It took me a solid week to create this, because I was working with my archaic 32 bit machine's awful limits (new 64 bit machine in the works, in a couple of months! Then I'll get the 64 bit Poser 10!!). It took rendering it in my P9 with big 'area render blocks' and then adding a lot of the Poser critters via post.

PLUS during this past week, the horrendous Santa Ana Winds/Heat wave hit hard, (AGAIN!??! IN SPRING?!?!) with the many frightening fires that were set here in San Diego County. My precious cat Nickie got sick (and is still battling an infection due to his IBS tummy having trouble dealing with the antibiotic side effects), AND I hurt my toe so badly, I had to limp, so threw my bad back out.... it's been a really ROUGH week!

But now temperatures are dropping back to more normal, my toe/back is healing...taking some of the stress off...but I still spend a great deal of time nursing Nickie. (he's not drinking enough water, so I give him a ml dropper full of his water now and then during the day). I even finally felt "poetic" about this image, besides writing an epic "blog poem" about the week (still WIP)... but at least my tattered muse has returned finally!

Anyway, IN P9, I did Ken's pond scene, (plus extra tall reeds from RDNA, via CP) and Ken's wonderful mallards. I did have to turn the Pond's sky dome off. Ken's lights, and camera (a bit tweaked). DAZ Bass (tiny, bottom left under the water- can you see them?).

Pond, Dabbling Ducks (Mallards) and "song bird characters" (redwing blackbirds male and female) by Ken at HiveWire. Insects from Noggin and other various places. Frog from 9mb, I think it's called. Sky is Bountiful Knight's commissioned photo.

Marvelous work! A busy little place as most ponds are. Glad everything is getting back to normal levels of chaos for you. Hope Nickie and your toe continue to improve.

Nice. It's full of energy. The bass are really subtle. Took a little to see them. I'm glad things have turned around and are getting better. - Bob
