Here is part 11 for those that missed it....

"WHAT IS THAT?" Hayden asks while stopping dead in her tracks baffled by the large slow moving green object.
"A Gelatinous Cube." Replies Tate. "Keep your distance and it poses no real threat, get to close and you end up like these poor souls."
That is when I notice the skeletal remains inside the cube, what a horrible way to die I think to myself. I start to move in closer for a better look but Tate instantly steps between me and the cube.
"Stay back." he tells me. "We have to go back, a cube this size is just to dangerous to try and get around. I'm betting this is the passageway we wanted, we will just have to find another way."
I hear his words but all I really want is to get closer to the cube, just touch it and see what it feels like. How have I never heard of this cube? I decide to ask Tate more about it.
"Why have I never heard of a Gelatinous Cube? Such a large and unusual thing should surely have stories?"
"Cubes are very rare, they can only be created by the most powerful of wizards. You generally find them in dungeons or underground passages. One this size concerns me greatly, I fear we are not alone in this tomb. You probably have never heard of one because most people that encounter them also underestimate them, they get to close and there is no coming back from that."
"there looks like like just enough room along side of it, we could probably get by it if we're careful." I point out.
"NO!" he snaps. "That is exactly what it wants you to believe, we MUST go back."
I hate the thought of going back but I really don't want to end up dead either, if Tate says we need to go back then we go back. Bit has been hanging at my side since we encountered the cube, Titan however looks to be just as curious as me. We lock eyes and he throws his hands up and shrugs as though saying...oops! My door wasn't a good choice after all. I can't help but smile, he is an entertaining little guy.
"Lets start back." Tate says and begins moving down the passageway we came. I begin to follow when something he said strikes me.
"Tate...wait, did you say there is a powerful wizard here?"
He stops to turn and look at me. "Yes, I believe there is which is very bad Hayden. I wish you would have listened to me when I told you to go back originally. A wizard is something your not ready to face. I will take the time to guide you back out, I have come to enjoy your company but do not feel you should go any further."
His words are starting make perfect sense but my heart tells me to stick with it.
"No, I want to see this through to the end." I tell him
He grins.
"Arguing with you is pointless, I just wanted you to have the option." He motions for us to continue.
"Stay close and we will get through this together."
That makes me smile, there is a compassion in his voice that wasn't there before. I feel a bond forming between us that leaves me feeling confident for the first time since entering the tomb. I will help him on his quest and be there when he finds the weapon...
