The continuing story of Zam Littlefox.
(I actually read each comment carefully, sometimes I see something that gives me an idea, thanks to three_grrr for this idea.)
From beyond the mist of time, a goddess looked down upon the Sprite of Mischief and said, "Thou art a true and good Sprite, but thou art the first of thy kind little Sprite, and thou art alone."
The goddess then commanded the Wind Spirit and the Earth Spirit to come together.
The Wind Spirit and the Earth Spirit obeyed, and the goddess smiled upon them and caused a great storm to rage across the grassy plains.
On the third day, from the storm the goddess had created, stepped the first Horse; child of the Wind and of the Earth.
The goddess then commanded the child of Wind and Earth to go to the Sprite she favored. And he obeyed.

Mythology is one of my favorite topics, especially when there's all sorts of stuff going on. Funny how that works, especially since I don't like bossy human beings, but don't mind bossy divinities...well...I guess it's because divine things can be, at times, entertaining, especially if they get up to the things the most ancient ones seem to have continually gotten up to. But that's neither here nor there. As for the image and the snippet of a tale to go along with it, I love it. This makes me think of a variation on block printing or stencil art, and it works wonderfully with the subject. It's also an interesting contrast: wholly modern, despite the ancient subject matter. That's a really refreshing mix and this is a brilliant piece of work.

I think certain books are not accurate in all things, yes, He may have rested on the seventh day but I also think he spent a lot of that day creating His most beautiful subject!! That is why I love this work today, Zam now has the ultimate friend to become one with the wind!!!

and now we know that Horse didn't come to the with Spanish way back when at all, but got here in prehistory because the Goddess saw that our True and Good Sprite Zam needed a companion, one who would carry him like the wind across the land.
I just adore this scene .. and who'd have ever thought a few words could inspire such a beautiful story and image!
