Greetings folks,

For fans of the era when cars were cars and engines really hairdryers in disguise! Here is a classic from the Golden age of British Cars..
Ford built cars came out the factories in their thousands, yes, we still built cars..
Vauxhall, Austin etc..

This beauty was fuly restored in 2008, down to the shell.. It has a rebuilt 1600 crossflow engine and a five speed box..

Mike, Tim, all you guys out there enjoy!

P.S: The background photo used in yesterdays Eagles render was by 'Richardsphotos....Sorry mate.., Forgot..
Glad you liked :-)

Yesssssss... now this is more like it Rob.

I had a MK1 too but mine was an 1100, so I replaced that engine with a 1300.

Ahhh those were the days. This is a beauty... lovely resto although the 5 speed box is probably out of a Ford Sierra as these were 4 speed only back then.

A stunner and a fav mate

A mechanics dream, drop your spanner and it falls to the floor, these days you have to dismantle half the engine to find it !! Love the old Escorts, some happy days associated with one of these....

'Mike, Tim, all you guys out there enjoy'! What about ME! HUH HUH? I originally didn't realize it was you in Bill's photo when I insulted you, called you a spy...and referred to you a 'LOATHSOME OFFENSIVE BRUTE'!!!!!!! But now I can see it!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
PS this is an awesome colour. I can totally see that some people hate it, but for some reason it's always been my fave. I also love the lighting rig. Great shot mate.

Awesome Rob, a real car...the Mk1 Escort replaced the Mk1 Cortina as the hoon car to have back in my school days!!!
This looks to be a cracker resto job, complete with some 'Mexico' add ons by the look of it... the wheels and lighting array at least..
A beautiful legend.. from the days when you could see the engine, and work on it yourself!!

I've always said, If you are going to 'hot rod' it...make it orange:) I've only seen these on YouTube know the ones where cars come roaring around tight turns at twice the speed to make the turn...slide into the ditch, flip end-to-end and then rollover several more times until they come to rest up against a tree?

Anyway, neat shot mate. Always enjoy your automotive pics!

Blimey, this beauty appears in tip top shape, well caught, mate! But what is with those white covers or lids at the front? And that definitely is a hair dryer on top of the carburetor.
Actually, I can't tell this model from any of your British cars, i.e. Austin, Vauxhall, etc. They all look the same to me, as opposed to the old classics that I post, which are somewhat different from each other.

Haha, I remember this car since my days of childhood!

For over 40 years now my father prefers Ford, but the really, really coolest were a golden Capri 2.3S and a completly white Sierra XR 4i!
