Well, not really, but something about the shape of these dessicated flower heads reminded me of pineapples. I don't know what they are, but they were sort of tall, like teasel. Taken yesterday at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens.

Hmmm, Navy man danapommet has such an insipid expression on his face.
But I digress.
Super duper colors, focus and overall ambience in this capture of this very strange bloom, virtually off-this-planet alien in appearance, Denise.
And, when you mentioned pineapple, I instantly thought of hand grenades, that are, or were, euphemisticallly called pineapples in the military, at least when I was in the service.
