Great shot! The Dragon Rapide is one of my favs.

The incoming plane looks like it may be a Piper Arrow IV - another fav and one that brings back some fond memories. Logged a bunch of hours in one back in the 80's.

Really great clarity and stark lighting in this capture of the aircraft and environs, especially the aeroplane coming in for a landing, contrasted against that ominous background, mate.

OK, Rob...you wouldn't expect less than for me to identify the 'Young' plane would you?

The T-tail configuration is the giveaway for me. It was manufactured by Piper Aircraft sometime during the years 1977-1979. It is a Piper Lance or Lance II. It appears to have a three bladed prop and retractable gear. It could even be a Turbo Lance II. I have several hundred hours flying Piper Cherokee 140s, 180s and 235s, the only easily recognizable difference between them and the Lance is the T tail. T tails were very unpopular (different flight characteristics...the tail begins to fly after the wings during takeoff or put another way it is a pig at low airspeed) and Piper dropped them in 1980.

But you've got a fashionable one on short final here:)

They really knew how to design beautiful planes back then did't they!

A real stunner mate and wonderfully taken as always :)

Looking forward to the rest of your Eagle series, mate!

Hi Rob, as you can already guess from my last pics, aviation is another passion of mine! Indeed, this shot is a nice contrast between generations!

Hope your PC issues are blown away soon!!
