|Been wanting to show a bit of the Japanese side of WWII in the South Pacific. The problem was always finding accurate and detailed military models. Been a dearth of models and uniforms of the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy--except for Navy pilots and aircraft. Then this week, I stumbled across a Japanese modeling site that had trucks, scout cars, destroyers, and a light tank.
Already had the basic T-shirt Army uniform for the DAZ David3 figure and adapted it as best I could for Predation's "Lorenzo Lorez" figure. Still lacks some cartridge packs and other gear but wouldn't show up in this particular render anyway. These are pretty accurate near as I can tell. Don't have any NCOs or Officers, which would have been unusual to say the least.
Tried to be as accurate as I could. The rifles are German WWII models--at least they are Axis weapons! There are four trucks in the convoy but the trouble with jungle pictures is that the vegetation can hide a lot of stuff. The first has its sides and rear gate down, the next two they are up, and the last has sides up and gate down with a heavy machine gun pointing out the back--not that anyone could tell. Still, I am fairly happy with the outcome. Tried to make it look like a convoy pushing its way down a jungle trail somewhere in the Philippines. Probably ought to have had less bamboo and a few more deciduous looking trees to be accurate.
I'm dedicating this to Tryphon because he has been a good cyber friend and is a talented modeler that is trying create a whole catelogue of WWII military uniforms of the British Empire, Germany, and some other lesser known uniforms. Hopefully, Luis, this will motivate you to seriously consider creating some of those missing Japanese uniforms--especially for officers and NCOs. Heh.
Thanks to all for your visits, comments, and encouragements.
PS. Once again, I have had to reduce both the quality and the size to the point where one begins to wonder if it is worth the while to even post the thing.
Vegetation: "Lush Palms," Gill Brooks "eco-grass" (Renderosity), and "Temperate Fern pack" by Martin J. Frost(Cornucopia3d).
Vehicles: "Kurogane 4WD Scout Car," "Type 95 Light Tank," "Isuzu94 6-bi Military Truck" (all from Eco Oede CG Art).
Figures: Predation's "Lorenzo Lorez" figures with PoserWorld's "Japanese WWII Solider for David/M4."

outstanding time period models and jungle
You might want to consider using Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (considerably cheaper) to reduce the file size.
Best regards Ansgar
Good POV and scene. Very good and detailed composition.

great scene with excellent plants
Ein sehr schöner Render
This is fantastic, love the detailing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although I HATE war (though I am thankful for the men that preserved our freedom!!!) this is a very good piece!
Thank you for the dedi, always much appreciated. Love the piece, it's nice to see the pacific theater showcased, but you are right, there is a lack of decent uniforms. I think poser world is the only one to offers a Japanese uniform, but no officer. The Japanese uniform is on my to do list, up there with the USMC & Anzacs. Well done budy.
Excellent composition !
Superb plantlife and models
