| Greetings Folks, Taken last year with my larger camera (not the one that broke on me!), I tried to get different shots of more interesting 'Other' things that live in the seas of the world.. Some shots failed (lots!), others worked (few!).. Here is a Brain Coral of the type Oulophyllia, first described in 1848.. This one lives in the wild on Reefs in Indo-China.. Luckily, this species is not threatened.. I've kept the picture big so you can use it a screensaver or whatever if you wish... Enjoy Rob |

by TECHNISTRATIONS on Jan 20, 2013 11:50:47 am [homepage] When I saw the color contrasts full screem I grabbed my 3D glasses and this really seemed to pop - if you can sport a pair, look at the fish at the bottom of the coral.

So that's where I left it........ :-) a really sharp, clear, and very colorful photo, Rob! Most excellent, mate!
Years ago I went scuba diving off the Florida Keys and got to hang out with a number of these guys. They are very interesting to look at but didn't have a thing to say. lol. Nice shootin' mate.
by goodoleboy on Jan 20, 2013 10:24:07 pm [homepage] OMG, tortuous is an understatement when you get a look at those patterns, Rob. Actually, other than the patterns, the coral resembles certain helmets worn by guards or soldiers back in the Middle Ages and earlier. In any event, excellent capture considering the aquarium lighting.
Lovely detail! | |
