Those Were The Days

Back in the nineteen twenties, life was not peaceful at all!
Those were days of tommy guns, wild women and alcohol,
When the government's experiment spawned illegal activities,
Allowing the evil ambitious to profit from people's proclivities!

The hub of this enterprise was the new city on the Atlantic,
Hotels and restaurants were built at a pace that was frantic,
On the surface amusements made the Boardwalk romantic,
While deep in the night smuggler's used every possible tactic.

Bobbed hair and short dresses were fashionable sights,
While sounds of "basement Jazz" filled the clubs at night,
Man waged a war behind the bright colorful neon lights,
Bootleggers clashed with government men in awful fights.

Those were days of impulsiveness and abandon,
When ruthless men fought to build up their fortune.
So no, night life wasn't peaceful and quiet back then,
Strange how humanity rebels every now and again.
~Lyne

This was how I spent my Christmas day...well and a few days before as well, trying to perfect my "vision"... I had this idea... I hope Daphne really looks like she is standing on the frame... M4 is the Dark Elf from RDNA by MutedBanshie, Noggin's Seagulls... "my" moon in the sky as I wanted a smaller one. DM's and ironman13's poses- but SO modified I will not be giving credit for those. oh and Michael is wearing AprilYsh's "mitch" hair (don't tell him he's bald on top!! LOL!- but it's great "under the hat hair"!!) The wood frame is my own, created from scratch. I used both of Sveva's Twenties background sets, - the "neon signs" were from her one set, the Boardwalk from another. I added the cast shadows in post because there were two for each character to get the effects I wanted.
Always all of the Perfect V4 morphs, and Fabi's Mild Boreal lights.
Poser 7 & photoshop.

Pretty please, Big Click, there are so many details to see in these characters!

FYI - that virus is still stubborn, the weather is affecting my FM badly (like winter weather does for any arthritic condition) and I have plumbing problems as well, life is NOT fun right now AT ALL, but I take refuge in my creativity.

Darn near speechless - so many things are absolutely right, from the posing to the poetry. And yes, she is standing ON the frame, great job! Totally impressive work, +++5 and instant fave

And I agree, winter weather does suck for arthritis sufferers!

Gee, almost the same as now, except AK47s, wild tatooed women, and drugs. Smuggleing still going on, shootouts with the govenment, etc. Guess these are the good old days of the future.

Nice image, well done. I hope you are feeling better soon. It's cold and foggy up where I am too. My old body feels it too. - Bob

The other side of that era...religious nut cases (i.e., the Scopes Monkey Trial), corporate crime and Wall Street shenanigans that brought down the U.S. economy, corrupt government (like the Teapot Dome Scandal and the do-nothing Coolidge Administration)...hmmm...does sound like modern times!

Very nice poster....lot of work obviously went into this...unfortunately, RPublishing got it wrong with the "zoot suit." That particular style didn't appear until around 1940, and was mainly popular with Latinos and African-Americans of the time. A double-breasted pinstripe suit or three-piece would be more accurate.

I give it "5" anyway for overall quality.
