At the end of the world, when the economic collapse destroyed all governments, it didn't take long for civilization to disappear. It was every man, woman and children for themselves. The strong survived, and the weak perished, murdered for the few goods they still possessed, or starved to death. Soon, those powerful and skilled enough to defend themselves created fortified settlements inside of the ruined cities, and made sure no one else could get in. Anyone foolish enough to try were made into an example by the perimeter guards.

The sign should say "skewered" instead of shot. This is why we need to develop a rational standard of ethics NOW. BTW, "The State" is the most amoral and violent institution that man has created. The 20th century should very well bears this out and should serve as a warning. The State will fail as anything that mathematically cannot continue will not. Check out www.freedomainradio.com - practical philosophy you can apply today.
