After requests and trawling through my old files (VERY old), I found them! I knew I had a couple of shots taken with an old 35mm Pocket Kodak camera.. It really was a pocket job, taken in the 1980's!

The Swiss still to this day use these, they get maximum mileage from there aircraft, Hunter's have just been retired!

These were as you can see, part of the national display team, but now there are two Squadrons remaining, and they are used for interception, aerobatics, target-towing and electronic warfare!
As I said, they use there aircraft to the MAX!
Pilots are part time as well...

Hope you find some enjoyment from this blast from the past!

The Swiss have made some great planes in the past, this one is well proven and one of their best.

Great shots! I always enjoyed the F-5/T-38s because they looked like they could fit into your standard size car garage. It's a funy fact that on the Top Gun movie they used F-5s for the enemy aircraft going up against F-14s. I guess they couldn't get a hold of any third world aircraft.

The T-38/F-5 series keep flying on, and on, and on. Great airshow shots.

....and Jaguars, Tornados and Harriers have come and gone.....there's a lesson in there for someone......
this really ranks as a 'blast' from the past, no silly noise pollution laws back then, bet they sounded as good as they look.Doubt you'll ever catch 6 at once again.....unless you fancy a holiday buying cuckoo clocks and penknives....oh sorry! chocolate...they will not let you back in the country with a penknife.....10+ 'instafave'

Coool..Rob, very nice to see.. the F5 still ranks as one of the prettiest jet fighters, very sleek.. and one of my favs..especially in Top gun aggressor psuedo Russian schemes, where it 'dummies' for the Mig21's!

Zounds, great scanning of these old models from your 35mm Kodak, mate! Great clarity and ambience.
The F-5s are often shown as chase planes alongside of other newer aircraft.

I always loved that model of jet, I still think they are one of the more beautiful-looking jets. Nice pair of photos!

Ah... The 80's way bach when we used to live and enjoy ourselves. Now the whole world is bogged down by problems.

Excellent images mate and I too remember the F5's from Top Gun. In the top formation they kinda remind me of the 'Zombite Fighter Aircraft' from that episode of 'Thunderbirds' :)

These little planes look so sleek - they look almost like darts. I used to work on the T-38 version of this plane back in the day...

Great shots, Rob!
