I took the background photo in New York City--a few blocks west of the Brooklyn Bridge area.

Nelly is the main character in a novel I'm trying to write. She's probably going clubbing with her boyfriend: Vladimir, her dad's girlfriend's daughter: Mercedes, and Mercedes's co-worker from the Spicy Taco in SoHo: Leroy. (Leroy only came along because he doesn't want to fall victim to Mercedes's wrath.) She seems so glamorous in this picture compared to how she is at the beginning of the story.
