So this is my very first 'Have A Coke' pinup and I am dedicating to a nice lady named Alexandra Bye (aka happywatrmelon at deviantArt). I do not believe Alexandra has a gallery here at Renderosity though it may exist under a different handle. Alexandra is leaving deviantArt to establish her own professional site. I'm sure that we all wish her our best and good fortune in her endeavours though I'm rather sad to see her leaving DA. She is a very accomplished graphic artist, clever and funny too. In the last couple of years I've really enjoyed browsing her gallery at DA and I will miss it. Though, she was good enough to leave a note as to where to find her. I guess she loves pancakes, I only hope she is not a Pepsi gal.
And to all you critics out there, yes, I am entering the dreaded realm of commercialism once again - see Dentyne Girls, if you dare. But, I've always liked the artistry of the 'Have A Coke' posters even if I'm not too enamoured with the practices of the corporation in question. If only we could have one without the other. Ah, a world of good without evil...
This is the first of several such pinups now that I have a good (and free - very important) 3D model of a Coke bottle - obtained from www.archiebase.net, thanks guys. Though, to be honest, the prop does pose some technical challenges. It is not 'Poser ready' being created in 3D Max so does not import into Poser particularly well. Grouping information for texturing gets lost in the translation meaning I had to improvise insofar as placing the supplied textures onto the bottle correctly. And I had to place one bottle within another (ala. Russian doll, not Russian judge) to simulate the liquid within. It would not do for the young lady to offer an empty bottle of Coke. Thus the scene contains four Coke bottles not two - an additional problem as the prop appears to have a large number of polygons within its construct. This taxed the FFRender programme to the point that somethings got discarded in rendering. One time, Pipi rendered wearing only her gloves and shoes - yes, I saved that one, no I'm not going to post it. To fix this I had to really pair down the scene to a minimum of elements - sorry, no kitties. Fortunately, the young lady did not have to give up her underwear, Pipi only wears white cotton briefs.
Have a great weekend everyone. Sorry, no nudity.
