|It was time to start doing some retcon work on the old Truespace models!
Lazloi ships are supposed to be inspired by 'Art Deco' and 'Streamline Moderne' design styles (look 'em up on Wikipedia!), but rarely had the look in practice. It was also an opportunity to do something about it.
As it is a merchant cruiser, it had to have a boxy transport look, but also had to have design elements to impress, hence the grand entrance on the side with the huge figures - helps to put the lower orders in their place.
Modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D R13 Visualise.
Comments always appreciated.

Great looking design!
Definitely imposing looking.
Wonderfully creative design and great modeling...nice sharp render and work!
Very cool ship, and it definitely has an art-deco feel to it. Reminds me alot of the "futurist" art from the 1920's (yes, I'm abusing my art history classes from long, long ago!) and 1930's.
Excellent design Mark :)
I like the Art Deco style as well... translating that into a design for a space freight vessel is just too cool :-)
Pretty "ritzy" design, Mark. Love the way you blend Art Deco styling into your ship designs. This one's definitely a winner!!!
Sweet - you have a unique design sensibility with your models which I think is outstanding. Can't wait to see what you do with this ship!
definite art-deco feel!
