I apologize to those who love the depiction of Isis as "perfect wife and mother", but it's just the way my mind works. Isis has a multitude of names and associations: Queen of Heaven, Great Lady of Magic, Mistress of the House of Life, Light Giver of Heaven, etc. She is associated with magic, healing, justice and protection - particularly of the poor, and wisdom. But with all this, she is still mainly thought of only as the "perfect" wife and mother. One has to wonder if, while she was wandering the four corners of the earth searching for Osiris' body parts, did she ever ask herself if it was worth it? Anyhoo, thanks for peeking. The ancient ones did not create perfect gods, all their gods where flawed to some degree. That is what made their connection with humans more easy. I love the striking color contrasts here.
