(The English translation of the title is: Here is the guardian of the temple of life and death.)
An ancient Sumerian legend tells of a goddess, guardian of a temple, who asked to anyone wishing to enter there if he was willing to sacrifice himself to live or to die. In both cases, there would be a price to pay, and this was no money or other material richness.
There are so many things that money can not pay or reach!
About the stone represented in the scene as a monolith, it is a temple hymn to Iddin-Dagan, king of Larsa, cuneiform (Sumerian script) inscripted clay from ca. 1950 BC. Current located in the Department of Oriental Antiquities of Louvre Museum, Paris, France.

Absolutely fantastic! It has been a long time since I have seen any of your brilliant work, but this image more than makes up for the wait. Strange, recently I have been studying Sumerian Myths and incorporating some of it in my drawings. Guess this is an example of synchronicity, excellence and 5+!!!!!.

Ahh, it is August 17th again, another year has flown on the wings of yesterday. I agree no amount of Money can buy what is important in Life, happiness and fulfillment are gifts from Life that come in small parcels and infrequently, they must tucked away in the memory to be savored when needed. It is indeed good to see another installment of your incredible art and words, thank you my friend.
