It's great to see you back and with a marvel like this one. I love sketches, especially since I cannot sketch, myself. Oh well. I love the dancer's pose and the little "foot position" studies included with this image. Hand drawn material always draws my attention and this is super.

One of the things (there are many) I so love about your art, Ana, is the way it puts stories into my head. As I look at your work, flitting around in my brain are situations, tableaux, emotions. At first, I saw a girl, dancing for herself, for the sheer joy of the movements. She is a lithe form in motion, filled with the joy of the dance. Then when I looked at her expression, another thought came to me. She seemed to be dancing for someone. Not a person, more like a spiritual connection of some kind. Then I remembered two days ago, and a scene formed around her. Two days ago, I saw the most beautiful live oak tree. I touched its trunk and branches and felt such a strong connection. A massive being with a life force of tremendous power beneath my hand. Now I see your dancer, dancing before this tree. Celebrating with the movement and suppleness of her body, the motions and beauty of the tree. Celebrating the upward growth and the reaching out of the branches. Celebrating the movement of the branches in the wind. Celebrating the graceful shapes of the trunk and branches. As she dances, she sometimes looks at the tree and seems to say, "Do you see me? I am dancing for you. You are beautiful." Your dancer is wonderful. You have drawn her with such emotion, grace, and suppleness. I love the fluidity of her form, the exuberance of her hair, and her winsome expression. Very beautiful and evocative image!
