This will be a big weekend for race fans. Indy cars at Indianapolis and NASCAR in Charlotte. I headed down to the "Speed Street" festival in Charlotte, NC, as did about 300,000 other folks. Can you believe there were too many people to get any good people shots?

This is a great group of shots. 300,000 people and no good people shots!!!!!!! I don't think your trying hard enough. ;) Nah just kidding, but actually approaching people for a shot is a great way to get an inexhaustible supply, but you have to be brave! And BTW, you DID get some great people shots.

There are some good people shots in here, and when I read the title to this piece, I immediately thought of one of my friends, a Czech guy from Prague (he now lives in Holland.) Anyway, he's immensely fascinated by the idea of meeting "authentic" American Rednecks. Needless to say, I thought of him as I opened this picture,and what a series of pictures this is. Marvelous. The woman in mirrorshades is perfect!
