| Every year the citizens of Aurinor make a present (required of course) to the Autocrat. His weight in star diamonds. These diamonds are harvested in very harsh conditions in the Fire Desert, some wise men presume that are the remnants of a comet crashed in that place. No mention that the Autocrat is fatter every year. Many thanks for your visit and comments. Note: This practice of weight in gold and jewels is a real fact.  | I don't rate the politics here - they should shave lumps off the autocrat till he fits! The image + story makes a compelling combination. It's one of those where the scale of the components confuses at first - the steps look tiny compared to the balance, but it all works out well when you look more closely. Nice job. |
