After having been giving close examination of several rock and stone shaders provided by the nice folks at Planetside and using that knowledge along with a couple of TU's stone shaders I have arrived at this scene. I am not very good with all the 'Fractal Breakup' nodes yet and I am unhappy with my flat rocks and the distant mountain rockface, but never-the-less, I am still learning and having fun on my personally built New Vista 64 bit QuadCore computer that I put together from the remnants of my burned up 3.2GHz Dual Core.
As always Thanks So Much for your viewing!!!

It's truly a very beautiful landscape of dry rocks and cool mountains. I love the contrast between the warm tones of the rocks and the cool hues of the distant mountains and sky.

ooohh you are a perfectionist lol... I think that the depth of this image is superb, the rocks are very realistic and the foliage is terrific.. all that is missing is the injuns and the smoke from the gun fight, oh and perhaps a cart wheel or two and a few snakes hummmm,,, and a coyote, a mail coach and some 'osses .. excellent work Mark.

To me it looks very realistic! Great work! I just took a little view in Terragen, but it's to complex for me. But the result is great. Very photorealistic. You did a great job!
