|I' ve made this guy just for fun trying to focus on his expression, testing and learning some skin shading, texturing and fur on a human character.
The original head mesh is about 6k polys, here I' ve used a smoothed version (about 26k polys) just to avoid jegged edges.
The skin and clothes shaders are SSS and the hair/fur is made with Shave and A Haircut.
The rendering is made in a single pass and the hires version is 3636x2567 and took about 30 minutes to render it out.
No post work on the character just a simple straightforward rendering.

Wow wee wow wow wow! He is fab!
He looks so amazingly real, outstanding job! :)
Dude man, wow, teach me. I've almost never seen someone use Maya as well as you. Not even some of the creators of the software itself. Amazing.
Impressive character very well crafted top quality work!
Excellent texture and expression.
Wonderful, wonderful job here! Besides your technical mastery, I like the warm realism of this character. There are far too few really good male characters here, and almost no good ethnic ones. This is a knockout, really well done!
Stunning composition, looks fantastic, dear Massimo ! 5* Hugs Karin :)
Thanks for the nice comments guys!:-)
I really like his smiling eyes and the skin is great, too.
Love it! Amazing that you could do it without any post work.
Wonderful morph and texture. Very nicely done! :)
Wow, fantastic work, very realistic.
Gorgeous lighting, perfect catchlights in the eyes, skintone and slight blemishes add realism... going through your gallery is more than just inspiring!
