| I did this over a year ago. I wanted to finish it but I ran out of ink in the pen I was using and I dont have another one like it, nor do I remember the type of pen that I used. It was some kind of art pen... I think. I dont like to use different pens in the same outline because it bothers me when they have different texture and/or color. But I still think that its one of my better pieces. | Details

Great picture! I know a few people who'd love to have this as a tattoo, me included! Well done
by november22 on Nov 16, 2008 1:00:28 pm [homepage] Nicely drawn, and so understand about the pen bit! And yeah, could see this as a tat.
by Demented_She-Penguin on Nov 16, 2008 3:05:56 pm [homepage] Actually my brother wants me to tatt this on him once I get better with my tattoo gun. But for someone who wants to be a tattoo artist so bad, Im really afraid to practice on people other than myself. My husband got me to do one on him but the took a lot of convincing.
by Ink-Charmer on Nov 16, 2008 4:09:01 pm [homepage] Amazing work!
Very nice artwork. | |
I confess I know little about tattoo (though it has ancient roots), I can only say that the drawing itself is exquisite & has grace; and though you didn't finish it for good reasons (I agree with koosie, I understand), it speaks beautifully by itself. You caught the structure of bamboo beautifully right down to the joins of the leaves & bamboo joints; and it looks as if the dragon's tail was to hold the bamboo as a base, a holder...unfinished drawings are an art by themselves, the masters did them with great love. This is beautiful, you do beautiful work.
by cyberknight1133 on Nov 19, 2008 8:24:56 am [homepage] Nice composition. If you have photoshop, a finished version, saved as a psd or png file might do well in the Renderosity Market...
It is a beautiful piece and in its so-called unfinished state it is just perfect. Sometimes understatement is just right. Your dragon lives, and the bamboo is superbly drawn.
Fashinating image!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bravissimo!*V*:DDD.Hugsxx
