This image was initially going to be a simple retouch in Photoshop from a low resolution image I liked (http://www.mickusher.com/life/mum_dad/phots.jpg) but expanded into a total redraw of a photograph. I used the paint and smudge tools, (with Wacom tablet), in Photoshop to rework the image.
