I liked the realism of the face on this one. You have to "ugly down" the standard faces to avoid that plastic look. (Obviously, the face is the only thing that's not plastic in this image.)

It does have the certain "je ne sais quoi" look that does make it look more realistic. I agree, you really have to mess with the dials and such to get out of the plastic look, the upside is more realism, the downside is the requirement of postwork and lighting.
