Wow, that is really good! Perhaps you could postwork the grass under the blastbeam by making a soft selection and then lightening the levels... make it look like the light is "burning out" that area of the picture. Sorry if I am not clear...?

Nice work, I love the mech, compositing is great, the blast are quite bright but don't appear to have affected the shadows on the ground, but nicely put together

That's exactly what I aim to achieve using HDRI in my images: For it to look well lit (if not using a photograph for a background) and to achieve photorealism. I just love it, I used to dream about doing stuff like this.

If this thing will manage crabgrass in addition to other threats, you can take my order now! Great pic, superb if you can get some scuffed grass or footpad indents into the soil.

It's amazing how realistic this is... Your use of HDRI is very powerful.

I agree with VRG about lightening the area of the grass below the beams; never would have thought of that meself, but it makes sense. :)
