Harold Diminter was a corporate hatchet man. He took great pride in rigorously searching for ways to reduce what he called “payroll waste” and to increase the company’s profit margin. His swollen ego from wielding his power had long tagged him as a man to avoid. Co-workers whispered behind his back that his blood must run as black as ink. This suited Diminter just fine: after all, the boss wanted numbers, not people. Right?

Diminter had become so good at his job that he could sense when the boss wanted another cut back before being told so. The voice in his head had never let him down on that accord, so he didn’t hesitate with announcing the next round of lay offs. That small voice, that was unmistakably his boss’s, hinted of a promotion that would keep Diminter at his right hand if he would perform this task one more time. This was to be his last chore in the cramped human resources office.

Diminter got his new job like the boss had hinted. A rampaging ex-employee with a pistol sent Harold to meet the boss in his head that very day and yes, he’s now that right hand man: ...supplying ink when needed.

Top class imagination and application of it! Though not as extreme, I imagine that this happens in thousands of companies! LOL!

I love C.S. Lewis work. I was going to read the book be got side track; I did read other books of his. He was frinds with R.R.Token. Token is the one that lead Lewis to the Lord Jesus. Lewis did not believe in any god but Token show Lewis the truth.

Comment from Geetargeek doesn't count. That's my 14 year old daughter. (although she seems to have a good eye--if she wants to eat) Love you, baby ;-)

I agree with your daughter LOL! Obviously a lot of thought and hard (but fun)work went into this.
All the improvements you've made since your WIP

Terrific work, Willie! Suits the book perfectly! Harold D's story is icing on the cake - LOL! Can I assume you've also read Taylor Caldwell's 'Dialogues With the Devil'...?
